LoL latency issues or cpu issue?

I have been playing LOL for about 6 months now and after a patch a few weeks ago ( the one before the most recent one) I have been experiencing some strange difficulties.

The game will start and there will be points on average once every 2 minutes where for 4-5 seconds the game goes haywire. Its similar to lag, I can't see health bars of enemy minions I can't see aggro or attacks of minions, the position of my character is not accurate or that of other characters/minions. My skills will not go off until the spike has ceased ect. but then things return for a bit until the next spike.

My frame rate doesn't jump during these spikes and my cpu isn't being shown at max load. I tried defraging my hd, I tested my connection on speedtest, I downloaded the latest graphics card driver all of which have failed to alleviate the problem. I'm not sure if this is a problem on my end or not or how to possibly alleviate the problem. Is there a way/ hud to download that will show my latency in game. I was thinking it could possibly be my latency spiking or something.

I really dont want to have to quit playing this game but in the current scenario the game is unplayable, I die to jungle creeps in spikes can't see what is happening in teamfights and usually come out of a spike to a gray screen, its generally not pretty. Prior to a few weeks ago this problem never occured.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. This now happens every game I play, hence the reason I doubt it is lag on the server and my connection checks out as good, hence I doubt it is lag on my end as well.

That all seems pretty fine, can you try the following:

1) Press the Windows Key + R on your keyboard
2) Type in "cmd" and press enter
3) In the command prompt, type "ping google.com -t"
4) Play a game, and leave this running.

When it lags, alt-tab out and see if the pings have increased at all.

Your logs are showing some serious ping spikes on the order of 2000-5000ms

Since these are intermittent, they wouldn't necessarily show up in a standard ping test, so it's possible the issue is somewhere on your end. If other people in your game were also lagging, it's also possible that the issue was server related.

We'll let staff take a look at the logs and see if it was a server issue, but if you continue to have this problem you may want to take a look at your connection.

They should show up in the above test I recommended, I think Aregionius meant they won't show up in the ping test you ran originally - the second test I recommended should catch these issues.

True, I think we were posting at the same time so I didn't see your second part

So i will do the recommendation on the next game I play. A friend recommended I uninstall LoL and then reinstall it and I tried that. So far I've only played one practice game since reinstalling but it played with no lag so I'm hoping that may have fixed whatever the problem was.

So I played a game with the recommendation and ran the ping with google and the ping with google stayed constant yet I still was getting the same lag spikes I had previously.

See below,

The numbers in bold are your ping. If you don't know, this is how long it takes for the server to talk with the computer, and vice versa.

As you can see, for the most part it's fine, but then it randomly spikes up. This is going from 0.067 second to "talk" to 2.2 - which is a big time for a game.

There's something strange going on with your connection at these points...
