This is my second lore, my first being one around Kayle - so I decided to do a near unused Champion - Xerath.
Chapter 1: Legends Never Die
As Xerath practiced his daily meditation his thoughts scattered back to the eons ago, where he had once been a mortal mage. He had his friends, and he had his students. He remembered several. From the Golem Conjurer Tomas Troyal, to the ever faithful Water Elementalist Copernicus Leventor - all of them loyal and willing to follow the path of magic. He remembered the path throughout the mansion that had once been bestowed to him by the leaders of the Mage's Guild in Shurima. He knew the path to every room inside of that massive structure - even to those which were thought secret by his students. He still felt a pang of sorrow as he saw his love Sabrina Hylia passing him by. He saw her warm, loving smile. He brown eyes that seemed to lift the spirits around them, and the strength of her inner self. He felt a pang of sorrow flow through him. He re-awakened to the sound of Champions training and looked down at the metal prison that encased him. This was the reason he was here, he thought to himself, to be rid of this mortal form and once again ascend to the being of pure energy. Perhaps then, he thought, I can see my dear Sabrina once again. He then exited his living quarters and went to train with Brand on the target minions.
"I can't believe it!" One of the archaeologists shouted as he cracked away the ice," I have something here!" Another two walked over and began to chip away at the ice. One of the escorts, Jax looked somewhat worried as they chipped it away. An unexpected threat might be laying in there - and something he hadn't beat senseless was always another threat.
"I can't believe it , it's.... a man!" The archaeologist summoned a drill made of ice and began to dig a small hole in the ice. He went down about 8 feet then hit and air pocket. Jax readied himself, something was off.
"What the!" the man said when he saw an open eye staring back at him, it had an orange iris and was beginning to glow. Jax was the only person left standing when the explosion happened. It had blown out the ice and a man dressed in an ancient armor stood parallel to him. The armor was white, with a secondary color of orange on it. It had a spikey feel to it, and had several gemstones pulsating on it. Jax twirled his lamp-post like a baton and took a leap into combat. He swung his lamp post downward and cracked the ice where the man had been standing. The man had a flaming sword out. It has of a maneuverable size and was made of an ancient metal. The man swung his sword and a trio of firebolts flew at the Grandmaster. Jax avoided them deftly while twirling his weapon. He then closed the distance with a skid as another trio approached. He slid under them with ease and pounced on the man. The man spun and blocked the first strike with his sword. He then sent an uppercut in the Grandmasters jaw. The Grandmaster went with the motion and back flipped and sent the man into the air. By then, something else had emerged from the ice. A woman with a spear-like pole-arm. Her armor was made of the same material - but a white and purple variant.
Just my day, Jax thought. He parried the first mans movements and swung at the woman as she came at him. She was off from the start and was sent crashing into the ice.
"Zephyr!" He yelled.
"Hold on," Jax shouted," Just time-out. What in the name of Reginald were you doing in the ice?"
"We were in-cased in that ice during a battle with Xerath. He was summoning forces beyond his control and couldn't be stopped," the man said.
"Alright, then we have no quarry," Jax said," Now what's your two's name?"
"I am Jonathan Phoenix, that is Courtney Zephyr."
"Jax, Grandmaster at Arms - now, let's get you folk some good food and shelter before more get injured," Jax suggested.
"Alright," Jonathon fell to one knee.
"What is it?" Jax asked.
"He's not in his element." Courtney responded.
"Aight, we'll get him near a warm cozy fire then," Jax responded thinking she meant the cold was un-bearable to him.
Xerath felt a disturbance in the flow of magic around the Institute. He heard the scramble of Summoners - saying the words ," Newcomers."
He exited his quarters in mere curiosity, he preferred not to interact with the outside, minus Brand - his sole companion of course.
What he saw astounded him in every way possible. He was utterly shocked. Jax and Olaf escorted them through the training area. Jon turned to look around and his eyes began to blaze as he looked directly at Xerath. He jumped into the air, breaking the magical protections to stop him and transformed into a Phoenix. He flew towards Xerath and hit him, creating a large gash in the neat pavement.
"I incinerate you until you are but ashes, you traitor!" he shouted as he turned back to normal. Jax had already begun to walk towards him as Courtney began to summon a bolt of lightning, but was stopped by Pantheon who had an interest in what was happening. Jonathon raised his hand and his sword came flying back to him from Kayle's arms - even the strength of a Celestian like her was nothing to stop a magical impulse. He raised it and brought it down with all his strength - but it was stopped and inch from the magical neck of Xerath. Jax's lamp post stood there. Jonathon looked up and heard Jax say," Kid - if you want it that bad wait to be summoned." The magical defenses kicked up again and his weapon flew back into Kayle's hands. If Xerath could frown he would as he got up. His opponents had returned, the only two that could defeat him - this would require special measures.
"To our new Champions!" Gargas shouted as he gave a bottle of his best wine to Courtney.
"Huzzah!" Many others shouted. It was the second to last night before most of them would begin combat in the arenas again. Jonathan took a sip of the wine he had then saw a champion approaching. It was Pantheon.
"I hear you kick old bolties a** out there," Pantheon said," Nice! But if you really want to do some damage - do it during an arena fight or else they'll get mad about losing Xerath."
"I'll remember that," Jonathon responded. He had turned his attention to the woman that had a mini tornado surrounding her. He then got up and went to introduce himself, maybe it won't be that bad, he thought.

Preview of Chapter 2:
Jonathon cast a bolt of fire at one of the moving targets, slid between another and sliced upwards cutting another in half. He spun and stabbed another in the chest. As the last target came towards him a vortex of spinning air came and tore it to pieces. He saw a Female Champion head his way. It was Janna, the extremely talented mage he had met last night at the party.
"So, honing your skills for the Fields of Justice?" she asked.
"Indeed," Jonathon responded as he summoned a small flame that he twirled around his fingers.
"Want to spar?" She asked as she put out the flame with a burst of air from her staff.
"Why not?" Jonathon responded, he looked at his sword then moved his hand around it's outer frame. It extended and became a pole-arm.
"How'd you do that?" Janna was curious.
"The weapon is made from a Magical Metal called Phoenixite. It is found where a Phoenix has been slain, as it turns into a lifeless egg pieces of cooled parts fall from the sky," Jon responded," And being a fire Elementalist I have perfect control over a sword made of an Elemental metal."
"I see," Janna said," On Guard."
