Just a quick check to see where you are at!

*Note: The chart only counts people who are 1250+

Also remember that according to Riot, 1250 is top 25% of the League population.

Also proves the statistically speaking, the elo system is working. Thats how elo charting works, shows the general picture instead of individual complaints on forum about elo hell.

That top 25% comment included people who don't play ranked. So if those people actually played ranked games their Elo would be different. Therefore, while it may be an accurate number it is not representative of an accurate skill curve.

It also includes people who play rank and are unranked. With over 500,000 people experiencing ranked play, Bronze is still top 25%. Therefore, if people who has never started ranked games start playing, the statistics would still fall around 25% (where every 1 out of 4 will be ranked).

so riot lets the 'average' player start over 75% of his fellows when he enters the ranked arena?

seems legit

Don't you start at 1200?

Regardless, if everyone does start at 1200, I would guess that a huge percentage of the population is between the 1150-1250 range.

From season 1 statistics, that's riot's official statement. Maybe you can find it by digging through the forums.

And also, placement matches you start at 1200 and win/lose 50. The better players (who probably have 1500 skill level) will roll these ppl (including 2k smurfs) therefore making the majority of players falling around 800-1200 range.

Smurfing probably a big contributor considering 1 plat elo person with 4 accounts (all 2k elo+), this means a total of 4x800 = 3200 elo going downhill for other players (if you consider 1200 to be "average&quot

Everyone started at the same level. Very few got higher, a lot of people fell lower. That's how it was meant to be, why are you surprised?

If they had the players start over 40% of their fellows then in time it would just shift again until it is 75%

im just chuckling over the irony

now when taking smurfs into account, what... riot pushes new ranked players in with a 80% chance of being the worst person on the map?

Thats why at 1250 you get Bronze and a prize for it? It's not suppose to be, oh I just started league a month ago, NOW IM BRONZE MUAHAHAHAA. Its suppose to be difficult. A lot of people may have gotten lucky to get to bronze, but as you can see, it exponentially lowered from 1400+ so silver, gold, ESPECIALLY PLAT takes some kind of effort/skill.

Stats don't lie bro. Despite the trolls and elo hell speeches, the percentages rarely change by 1% weekly.
