The nerf to Shaco's Deceive duration from 5seconds to four seconds was unwarranted. This really makes it harder to actually use the ability offensively for damage. I would've much preferred 5 or 6 second duration and a large nerf to the recast, there just isn't enough time to use the ability properly offensively. The defensive use of this skill was jumping through terrain, not being invisible - the proper nerf should've been a larger nerf to the recast, not to the duration.

I have to agree, of all the champs in need of a nerf shaco was the last that came to mind. He got all of his abilities nerfed for no appearant reason, now im scared to play shaco, as it stands he dies if a baby farts in his direction now it's going to be just that much harder to be usefull in a team fight.

he got nerfed hardcore all of his ability's but his ult where nerfed. But yea every aspect of Deceice was nerfed mana, range , cool down , and duration. But hey thats why they call it beta =)

I think they overdid it as well. There were so many suggestions for balancing shaco properly too...

Imo where they overdid it is the range + the duration. It was slight OP in it's survivability application, not in its attacking use.

Is anyone not surprised to see not a single tweak for ashe or teemo?

Yeah, Shaco didn't need a nerf. : ( He was barely holding on as it was.

Teemo should be getting a new passive when they get their acts together.

I have 100+ games on Shaco, and after reading these patch notes, am literally shocked at the decisions Riot has made on Shaco. They have made one of his skills COMPLETELY USELESS.

The nerfs to Deceive has made Shaco a much worse ganker. The CD increase destroys his ability to gank, as it will take much too long after coming out of deceive to catch the fleeing Champ. The range nerf also poses the same issue. If Shaco is going to have nerfs toward his chasing ability, why not Kassadin? If you argue that Shaco has Stealth, your argument is now flawed. The now 4-second stealth (sad) combined with the 400g Oracles completely destroys the element of stealth. Kassadin is now the best ganker in the game.

The nerfs to Deceive also kills Shaco's survivability. Being able to get in and get out was the essence of Shaco. Now, he can either go in, or go out. Even while escaping, 4 seconds is not nearly enough time. Most slows last for 2-4 seconds. That extra 1 second gave Shaco time to gain lost ground before being exposed again. Combined with the CD increase gives Shaco even less survivability. Again, Kassadin still goes ignored, having no problem blinking around the map. Kassadin's survivability and mobility is almost unrivaled.

Riot has managed to completely break one of Shaco's best skills - Jack in the Box. JITB is now completely useless early, mid, and late-game.

Early game JITB's is the only method of Shaco's ability to push and acquire early ganks. With the Base HP drop and the range nerf, mobs/opposing laners can easily break these boxes before they have any chance to deal damage/fear. The Magic Immune removal also completely breaks them, as opposing laners who are AOEing lanes regardless of the situation (Veigar, Morgana) can now one-shot JITBs early game with no problem.

Mid Game during solo ganks, one of Shaco's ganking combos is a deceive/JITB behind target/two-shiv/(hallucinate/attack). This combo is now destroyed as the setup time for the gank has decreased by a full second, killing the crit bonus from Deceive before one can even setup. JITB also becomes much less effective due to the range nerf, as well as the magic resist nerf. Again, Deceiving to chase is out of the question.

Late game during 5-man ganks, Jack in the box was Shaco's claim to fame in team fights - he is now useless in a 5-man gank squad/team battle. The constant AOE damage that will be spammed in team fights will kill JITB's before they even get a chance to pop fear. Shaco's only use in 5-man ganks is to now cause slows. His inability to escape well makes him extremely ineffective at in-the-fray fighting. I can see Shaco as now being frequently targeted - stunned into eternity, and killed extremely quickly.

Stealth overall got completely smashed. It seems that Riot is making these assassin-type heroes less and less useful in all scenarios, and forcing them to be more situational. With the decrease in Oracle's, and the buffs to Clairvoyance and the new wards, more and more is present in the game to shut down these characters. Oracle's is an awful item overall - it completely breaks stealthing champs for such a small price. In 5-man ganks, oracle's leaves stealthing out of the question.

Riot ,I ask that you review your decisions made on Shaco, as well on stealthing heroes in general. He was a truly fun to play, but after reading these notes, I will not play him until he is fixed. He may be an amazing pubstomper, but in the viability of competivite matches, he was and is now even more a terrible decision to have on a team. Don't nerf based on low-ELO players frequently getting killed by him, as well as other stealthing characters. Don't nerf based on the K/D ratios acquired by good Shaco players. Consider the numerous counters previously available toward stealthing champions before making such extreme decisions.

agreed. Bring back shaco's ability to kill ppl and leave. put him backkk!!!!!! hes a squishy melee carry that is so fun. so much better than having nubby sona garen and vlad as OPs
