This is his nerf:

General
Base Attack Damage reduced to 55.3 from 59
Attack Damage per level increased to 3.3 from 3

Audacious Charge
Damage reduced to 70/110/150/190/230 from 70/115/160/205/250

This is a table comparing his old and new base attack within levels:

LVL / AD (old) / AD (new)
1 / 59 / 53,3
2 / 62 / 56,6
3 / 65 / 59,9
4 / 68 / 63,2
5 / 71 / 66,5
6 / 74 / 69,8
7 / 77 / 73,1
8 / 80 / 76,4
9 / 83 / 79,7
10 / 86 / 83
11 / 89 / 86,3
12 / 92 / 89,6
13 / 95 / 92,9
14 / 98 / 96,2
15 / 101 / 99,5
16 / 104 / 102,8
17 / 107 / 106,1
18 / 110 / 109,4

You mean you vote "yes", right? "Yes", he will still be OP.

Why is everyone so fixated on Xin being 'OP'? I think everyone is just used to him sucking like he has for the last year or so.
Instead of a free win, he is actually a competitive pick.

I mean really... is he REALLY significantly better than Yorick, Riven, OP Lee, Jax, Rumble, and the other top tier picks, such that he needs nerfing?
(yeah guess they nerfed him on principle anyways)

To be perfectly honest the nerfs barely even seem relevant, not that I go on either end of this debate as I'm a n00b and don't know what I'm talking about, although I guess slower earlygame is the bigger impact. Once he gets to level 7 the gap closes to the point where it's like he was never touched in the first place, and the charge's "nerf" is barely even a decrease. Rank 5 is the only one where it even MIGHT seem significant.

it seems to me they felt he was to strong early game, since the AD changes leave him with the same ending AD pretty much.

It actually leaves him with slightly higher base AD at higher levels.

According to what? Haven't you read the patch official notes? It's said there that these values are correct.

I don't really understand why riot do the things that they do sometimes. They essentially nerf champions who have a specific niche so they are even less effective in what they are supposed to do. Rumble and Urgot, for example, had that lane bully niche. Riot then proceeds to nerf them and take away what makes them unique; their early game dominance. While this Xin Zhao nerf doesn't feel significant, that early game damage really is a big deal. He is a niche champion known for dominating very early. They just weakened what made him a strong pick in the first place. That being said, late game there won't be much of a difference as far as damage is concerned. However, Xin Zhao players rely on their early game in the first place to even succeed late game. The nerf seems a little unwarranted in my opinion. And for the record, people who cry about Xin Zhao being op clearly haven't heard of Jax. You know, that guy you send top to counter anybody but Malphite.
