Why does this exist? Sure it's awesome being able to log in when the server is "busy", but it also defeats the point of setting it to busy in the first place and is likely detrimental to server stability.

And yes, I'm aware that it isn't really the Konami Code but I'm not sure what else to call it.

Its a brute force to allow log on when your launcher says "down" but everyone else's says "Available".

They are redoing the launcher, I don't know if the code will still be a feature.

Its not meant to be used during "busy" status, but it can be handy if you got booted and your game is still going but the server is busy.

It is from Beta.

They had a glitch in Beta where the server status sometimes wouldn't display properly, so they added a manual override so that beta testers could get in even if the server status was messed up.

Much of the player base doesn't come on to the forums unless the servers are down anyway. If you read around here a lot, you get the occasional new poster, but most of the names are regular, and then the new guys get flamed and don't come back.

This leads me to believe that most people don't know the code, which means that the servers don't get completely slaughtered all the time because of it, or they would have removed it by now.

Weird, the answer used to be in the knowledge base (http://kb.leagueoflegends.com/questions/37/Launcher+Troubleshooting+Index) but it's no longer there. It's to be used just in case the launcher had some sort of miscommunication with the server but you know the server is up.

Why have the launcher screen anyway, why can't it just launch after it patches and then have the title screen restrict us from logging in when the server is down/busy? All in all, it doesn't matter. If the server doesn't want to let you in, it won't let you in at the login.

This is a great way to control traffic flow when the servers come back up. Set the server to busy and only people that no about the code get in, which is a slow trickle compared to what it would be.

Now quit talking about it.

I wish people would stop calling it the konami code. It's not even the same sequence. People are going to try it and it's not going to work because it's NOT THE KONAMI CODE.
