I've been playing LoL since almost beta and i've spent lots of money on this game due to my love for it but for a long time i have wondered , how does matchmaking queue work? I played over 3k games and most of them are 3v3 and for a long time i keep getting low levels with me.
I played a game today and got a lvl 9 with me. Please tell me is there a system or is it just putting any 3 people together? http://imgur.com/3ppyl

It seems to try to match for similar win-loss ratio first. Similar summoner level. Similar number of wins. Premade vs. premade, solo vs. solo.

Hoever the key word is TRY. If there`s no perfect match, it expands its search paramaters to less perfect- and keep broadening it if it can`t find anything. If I duo queue with a lv5 friend for example, it might grab a lv30 with a lv6 friend for the other team. Or it might pick 3 lv15 people... that`s ``close enough`` for the system. If it can`t find a premade close to you, it might find a group of individuals with higher win - loss ratios, to make up for the advantage premades have.

He`re the actual Riot explanation:

Imo match making sucks for TT players because your punished for being good with 20-30min queues :/
