### Runes, IP costs, Math and a cheaper way of getting runes.

The rune combiner is mostly forgotten now a day, but here is some math I did about the total amount of ip it costs to buy every single rune and the amount of ip you can save if you buy all the cheaper runes (under 515 ip costing runes) first. After you then use the rune combiner and combine 25 diffrent 30 ip runes into 1 t3 rune.

Ill explain more later if requested.

30 (cheapest t1 rune)*5(makes 1 t2)*5(5 t2 =1 t3) = 750 ... 750 ip is the cap of where its cheaper to buy runes via non rune combiner

Number of 205ip runes = 17

Number of total runes required to have all of the 205ip runes = 17*9 = 153

Amount of ip required to get all 153 of the 205ip runes = 31365

Number of 410ip runes = 33

Number of total runes required to have all 410ip runes = 33*9 = 297

Amount of ip required to get all 297 of the 415ip runes = 297*415 = 123255

Number of 515ip runes = 3

Number of total runes required to have all 515ip runes = 3*3(quints) = 9

Amount of ip required to get all 9 of the 515ip runes = 9*515 = 4635

Total amount of ip required to this point = 31365 + 123255 + 4635 = 159255.

________________________________Here is where its now cheaper to buy t1 30ip runes and combine them ..

------------------- If you wish to do this as a major way of saving ip. I suggest you have all the ones before this to avoid losing ip.

Number of 820ip runes = 15

Number of total runes required to have all 820ip = 15*9 = 135

Amount of ip required to get all 820ip = 135*820 = 110700

Amount of ip required to use rune combining method = 135*750 =101250

ip saved = 110700 - 101250 = 9450

Number of 1025ip runes = 33

Number of total runes required to have all 1025ip = 33*3 = 99

Amount of ip required to get all 1025ip runes = 99*1025 = 101475

Amount of ip required to use rune combining method = 99*750 = 74250

ip saved = 101475 - 74250 = 27225

Number of 2050ip runes = 11

Number of total runes required to have all 2050ip = 11*3 = 33

Amount of ip required to get all 2050ip runes = 33*2050 = 67650

Amount of ip required to use rune combining method = 33*750 = 24750

ip saved = 67650 - 24750 = 42900

Total amount of ip spent on higher costing runes w/o rune combining method = 110700 + 101475 + 67650 = 279825

Total amount of ip spent on higher costing runes w/ rune combining method = 101250 + 74250 + 24750 = 200250

TOTAL IP REQUIRED TO GET EVERY RUNE W/O COMBINE METHOD = 439080

TOTAL IP REQUIRED TO GET EVERY RUNE WITH COMBINE METHOD = 359505

IP SAVED = 79575

And then you remember that the rune combiner is not required to give you a rune you don't already have 9 of, and in fact gives you runes entirely at random, and the total IP required to get every rune by combining skyrockets.

Also, a lot of runes are useless. More cost-effective to not buy them than to run the combiner hoping to get the useful ones along with the useless ones.

The real problem is that it's random so you may end up getting the same runes that you don't want over and over again, or you just might not get the rune you want in succession. It's okay to use it, but it's safer to just buy the runes out of the store.

Seeing how you can no longer buy more then 9 of any single rune ... i assume this applies to the runes that come from the rune combiner (I have yet to come across a point where i can have gotten one of the runes i already have ...)

and this is just basic math ... and for people that want ALL the runes ... nothing big.

You definitely can get runes you already are capped on, happened to me a week or so ago.

You have a lot more complex math involved in when it no longer becomes efficient to generate random runes over direct buying them. Cost per unique rune would start to increase quickly. The odds of those being useful runes isn't great as well.

Cheapest runes are actually 15 IP and it makes 25 * 15 = 375 IP per T3 rune

I already have 4 AD quints thanks to the randomizer. I dont need any more.
