Is it when high levels pose as low levels to beat on noobies? I recently introduced some friends to this game and I was watching and giving them some useless advice on how to play. Meanwhile, they were getting stomped by some really frickin good players. Ridiculous for that level. Probably would have beaten me. And there were teams of such players not just 1 or 2 here and there. What is going on?! Is it fun somehow to beat on people who barely know how to play at all?

It's fun for like 1 game... i played on a mates account when he was level 4 and went 23-4-10, but have no desire to do it again.

A smurf's simply a player who made a new account when they've already played the game before, nothing more.

Some folks do it for what you think, zeirios (being ******bags), but I've done it to walk new players I know through the game and give tips to folks. Only problem there, is they tend to even when brand new respond with "stfu i kno wut im doing" and feed unto the gods to the point even if you're not trying 100%, you still dominate..

..but that can't be helped.

"Smurfing" just refers to a secondary, lesser account. It can most certainly be used for pubstomping newbies, but it isn't unheard of to have a lvl 30 smurf account, either. I typically use my smurf account to try new champs in a competitive setting rather than just practice games (which often are really imbalanced).

I also use it to play with my low-level friends who I don't want accidentally matched with lvl 30 players who will beat them down with no mercy and discourage them.

You'll see less smurfs pubstomping once you get past summoner lvl 10 or so.

I have a lower level account which I use to play with my lower level friends + try totally new characters I have never used but that's about it. I almost never play it anymore though because no matter what character I play I still steamroll people at that level. The first time I ever played Amumu I went 16 - 1 - 15 and kept thinking, "...This is way easier than it should be."

We did lose though so I didn't feel TOO bad.

i smurf, not going to lie

after you play a really tough fight, it's nice to relax with some toast and noobsauce.

but really, i use ti to try out new champs most of the time because practice matches require everybody and their mother to play these days.

I think all those reasons you all gave or reasonable. But there are those who troll and deny it and continu to abuse the system. Repeat deliberate offenders and trolls so to speak. Its b****. anyway thats my rant for today.

i played one game on a smurf account. there were other smurfs and i started 0-2 >.>. So i got rid of my practice game greed, and proceeded to play it safe.

i had a fantastic game though. great comeback and was actually really fun. i think i played a ton of other smurfs lol.

you are all lying

Smurfing is simply painting yourself blue and break-dancing at the local Wal-mart.

The answer has already been given.

Smurfing however is hilariously pathetic when said "smurfs" still suck.

I faced an entire team of smurfs last night while teaching a friend how to play and they were all terrible with their characters.

If you're going to make a fake account to "trash" noobs, then at least be good at the "trashing part" instead of looking like fools with all of those account names with the name "smurf" in it.

Sad.
