the ie6 install only works on the 32bit version. any help? also, LoL wont download into my computer to let me move it into the proper folder (which doesnt exist for some reason). How do i do that. Also i am horribly new to linux, and only had about 4 hours, most of it spent doing this. Thank you excuse my english.

Just wondering, is there any confirmation of an official client coming to linux yet?

To cut to the chase there is a fater way to install LoL faster and more effectivly on to you Linux.

now running it on wine is a great and smart idea, but to be honest its so hard and boring to do so the people, aka linux users have fund an easier way to do it its called

Play on Linux
this application can be found on the Ubuntu store just type in how it is and install.

NOTE
Play on Linux will automatically install all the packets and patch need to make the game work so now funk termial buzzness lol

to find the game on the app its smiple just type League of Legends and bammm..!! its there install the game and fall correctly then done... so you thought lol

one small thing you have to do is change the peramiters on the emulater. this is simple. just click the :configuration botton on the play on linux app and recofig it then done(make sure to click one time on the League option then click config)
just change the res to 1330 and 1000 and your good. (yes i know that insane res config but it works, trust me ) after that run the patch then play on

any question ask, i also know how to do it the command line way to if you need help

Just to point out some misconception: PlayonLinux is using wine as well, PoL just automates install steps like the one the TE posted. Without people like the TE who are giving instructions how to get a game to run, no one could create the install scripts for PoL.

You could just read it yourself on the PoL-Website: http://www.playonlinux.com/en/

PlayOnLinux is based on Wine, and so profits from all its features yet it keeps the user from having to deal with its complexity.

Hey, followed all the steps in your guide, but I'm having trouble getting the launcher to run.

INFO: running Linux Mint 14 Debian (MATE) 64-bit
ATI Radeon 5xxx
Core i7 1st gen

Followed all your instructions, and when running the command to open the LoL launcher I get a bunch of output from the system which makes it seem like its working, but nothing pops up and it ends in an error message

err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Program Files\\Riot Games\\League of Legends\\RADS\\system\\rads_user_kernel.exe" failed, status c0000135

I have no idea what this means, and this guide probably brought me the closest to running league on linux I've been before. Help would be much appreciated, I've attached the full log below
