I am of course talking about the nerf to her attack speed before she was released, and taking away the attack +speed/level passive on her fox fire spell. This made her less viable than the other ranged AD champions.

Example: Kog maw: Attack Speed 0.665 (+2.65%)
Attack Speed Bonus: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30%
lvl 18 Attack Speed no items: 1.313

Twisted Fate: Attack Speed 0.651 (+3.22%) (commonly an AP champion!)
Attack Speed Bonus: 3 / 6 / 9 / 12 / 15%
lvl 18 Attack Speed no items: 1.24

Ahri: Attack speed: 0.668 (+2%)
Attack speed Bonus: NONE
lvl 18 Attack Speed no items: .919

This is just a small sampling of champions, but I think it makes the point clear;

No AS/AD buffs on any of the skills and no AD scaling at all on skills would lead unaware players to think that this top tier AD champ is supposed to be built with AP items, which is a real tragedy IMO. Ahri is lacking on AS just a little bit, and a slight buff is all she needs to really make her competitive.

In that case, Riot really has no reason to not give Ahri a slight buff in AS.
You might get ~30 dps more when you build her AP?
That is negligable, and really didn't change anything.
