The last few games we've played we have gone up against extreemly high HP teams. Most of which were AD to a man stacking warmog's + atma's and a bunch of other HP items. How exactly can we counter this?

The things I've found so far have been deathfire's grasp & bloodrazor. But as an AP mage player bloodrazor isn't really doable for me. And deathfire grasp only does 30% ish off one target with a 1 min cooldown. Not sure what else we can do to counter this type of team makeup.

It got so bad last night that we had a guy on the other team playing gangplank with two warmogs, atma's, boots. He would have continued to stack hp from there, but we surrendered at 20min because we simply couldn't kill anyone they had so much HP.

Build some armor to counter their AD, and then realize you're not going to be bursting them down and play accordingly. If you're all AP you're going to be in a bit of trouble, but realize that the game isn't always about _you_. If they're hard countering you, they're leaving themselves open for your teammates. (I'm not saying you're selfish or anything, just that in a team based game, sometimes you actually need to rely on your team a bit more.)

Tanky teams are hard to counter, but usually a tanky character can't put out in raw damage as well as an AD carry or an AP carry.

That's assuming, of course, you're fairly even on minion kills (CS); if someone is fed and way more built than you, it's kind of over no matter what.

Counters for super tanky teams is CC and an AD carry; a character like Vayne can rip apart even the tankiest of enemies if she has support from her team. So if you're an AP mage, identify your primary target with your team (communicate on who to focus), and use whatever utility you have to lock that target down. Malz ult, Viktor W, Annie stun, whatever.

To counter tanky teams you will need an AD carry, usually range (Ashes/Vayne/Graves/Cait/MF/Trist)..

Best items that would be good against them are Last Whisper (Armor Pen) / Black Cleaver (Reduces Armor) / Madreds (% dmg based on targets HP).. And of course Infinity Edge (Self explanatory)..

But of course your team has to be able to support you and be able to CC certain champs so you are able to do damage and pick off the enemy one by one..

EDiT: Forgot about Sivir!! >.<

i'm assuming you're playing ap. with that being said, as an ap, your strong point is early to mid game. you need to take advantage of that, harass and burst down the opponent and force him to go back, miss exp and gold.
if you're not limited to ap champs and is willing to try others, champs with innate shred skills work wonders (kog maw, vayne, ww, etc)

you need to kite them, if you just stay and fight u will lose, assuming you both know the basic and are equally fed.

madreds bloodrazor is good if they have heaps of health, also executioners calling if you are attacking fast mid game, black cleaver is also good at shredding armour. For AP use things like abysal scepter and wits end deathfire grasp is useful as well. These are the best items imo for nullifying tanky teams.

Unfortunately they are all pretty expensive :s

Madreds is pretty good against a tanky team and Death fire grasp. Open up with it and watch their hp drop.
