I've been looking at Shaco and Nocturne for my first assassin champion. Which one should I unlock? All your opinions and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Shacos more fun IMO but be prepared to fail alot with him before you get good.

Nocturne is fairly straight forward, but lacks the tricks that Shaco has.

Play Shaco because you want to win by out thinking your opponents.

Play Nocturne if you want to win by out deepsing them.

my .02

I agree. Shaco is very skill oriented. You have a very high skill cap with him. Nocturne is easier to learn but not as nuanced. With noct you hit them with q, chase, fear kill repeat.

AS A FIRST assasin champion i would say for simplicity get nocturne he dies alot less and has alot less room for error. Shaco still has a nice learning curve that scales the higher your elo is.

Shaco takes a lot more finesse and planning than most people realize, and if you do learn to play him well you could be a real terror for the enemy team. Just avoid making an AP Shaco -- he's nothing but a big gimmick that's thwarted by wards and careful play and will do nothing but make you a worse player overall.

Now, Nocturne is a lot easier to pick up and play than Shaco and has a lot fewer tricks, but he can contribute more to a game's outcome than Shaco depending on how good Nocturne is relative to the Shaco. Nocturne, while having the capability to be built as an assassin, is more commonly built as a Tanky AD Bruiser that initiates fights for his team rather than hanging in the wings to pick someone off. So if you're looking at Nocturne for an "assassin" choice, your team is generally going to be upset if you build him to suit that role.

I play both Nocturne and Shaco
I played shaco since lvl1 when i first started, and i started playing nocturn recently
For me shaco is an easier champion however everyperson's different.
so if ur smart/ tricky or can control champions well i suggest u to play shaco,
but if u want easier ganking or COOLNESS u should play nocturn
