Hi.
Thinking about runes...
For an Attack damage rune page,
would pure Greater runes of attack damage which equals to 22 AD be good?
OR pure Great runes of Attack speed which gives around 38% attack speed be better?
OR just the general mixed runes like armour pen + armour + AD etc be better?

As a hypothetical champion someone like Riven or Yi here.

Thanks

your runes should be based on who you are VS in lane and what type of champion you are playing when you look at guides they are just that guides nothing is set in stone when it comes to picking your runes just keep 3 things in mind
1.who am i facing in lane
2.what feels best on my champion
3.what could i sub out in runes but make up for with masteries
All in all i think the rune are best use as they are, reds attack, yellows defence, blues magic resist, and i like to use the Quints for a bit of everything but more so just as a small buff for what ever my champion does like AD on AD AP on AP HP on tanks or tanky champions or if i feel like their base hp is a bit too low any way i hope you find this helpfull and if so you should check out my live stream i have a few viedos as well you could look at if im not streaming im no pro but im gold rated and pushing 3000 normal wins so i would like to think i know what im talking about here is a link to my channle and i post what runes im using on the videos http://www.own3d.tv/xFeedMeSeymourx

Mixed runes will almost always be better unless you're trying to do something specific.

Example:
You can have 22 AD on Riven at level 1 (only counting runes). She scales amazingly with AD, so that sounds pretty good.
OR you could have 15 AD, 13 armor, and 13 magic resist.

Is that last 7 AD worth the extra tankiness?

Each rune category - Marks, Seals, Glyphs, and Quints - are generally better with specific stats.
Marks are better with offensive stats.
Seals are better with defensive stats.
Glyphs are better with magic-related stats. (This includes cooldown reduction and magic resistance)
Quints are pretty good with just about anything and they offer utility options as well.

So for Riven, who scales very well with AD and CDR helps her out a lot, I would suggest:
9 AD marks
9 armor seals
9 MR or CDR glyphs
3 AD quints

And for Yi (if you're jungling) you might want something like:
3 attack speed marks, 6 armor penetration marks
9 armor seals
9 magic resistance per level glyphs
3 AD quints

In the end, it really depends on who you're playing and what you're planning to do, although a general set of runes can work on most champions.

The fastest jungling for clear after clear is 38% AS for lantern procs which also lets you start with a scythe so you don't waste gold on pots/cloth and get lantern faster.

Lane is about burst and ratios. full AD on Riven, mix on Yi.

Honestly I hate late game runes unless there is no runes that could help you early game.

If you don't win your lane, then the late game doesn't matter.
