Greetings Summoners,

I've been looking into the thread here:
http://na.leagueoflegends.com/board/....php?t=1661156

I wanted to make a new thread where I had control of the OP and drive the discussion towards discovering/resolving this issue.

To see if there is a common thread between players experiencing this problem. If you are experiencing this problem and would like assistance or to contribute to finding a solution you can do so by following these instructions.

Step 1: Follow our KB article that may improve your FPS*
I wrote this myself. It is rather... extensive. However, it is important that you follow this guide before posting your problem. It may even resolve your issue! If any of these issues resolve your problem please me a favor and report which step(s) resolved it for you.
https://support.leagueoflegends.com/...-improving-fps
* Additionally I want you to try selecting the "Disable all sounds" option in sounds options and restart your game.

Step 2: Post your DxDiag
https://support.leagueoflegends.com/...stic-or-dxdiag

Step 3: Post your most recent r3d logs where you experienced the problem
C:\Riot Games\LIVE\Logs\Game - R3d Logs
I collected all the old logs in the last thread but they only go to 1/15/2012. This leads me to believe this problem may have been solved. Also to properly compare these logs to a working log I need the versions to match.

I thank you in advance for your time and patience while I attempt to troubleshoot this issue with you. If you have any specific questions for me feel free to ask but please do not derail to far from the topic at hand. If you have a separate issue you would like me to investigate feel free to post a link to it here but please do not post about your issue here directly. Before linking it please be sure to visit our KB and post all relevant information in your thread. (Good advice when posting on this forum in general)

Current Best Fix (copied from deeper in the thread @ 2/16):
I just wanted to let everyone know that on Vista / Windows 7 the DEFAULT power option is balanced. It allows for throttling of your CPU down to 5%.

XP is not as well documented. It appears that different versions and Service Packs have different settings.

You will need to change your power options to prevent this from happening.

Its also important to note that certain hardware throttles itself at a lower level invisible/uncontrollable to Windows. The only way to fix this would be to investigate the settings of your BIOS. I cannot give detailed instructions for this but here are some guidelines:
Turn off any features with the following words:
Power Saver
Low Power
Quiet
Throttle
Dynamic Frequency
C-State (aka C1 C2 C3)
Dynamic Multiplier

If you have any questions about these settings or find another wording let me know so I can add it to the list.

Here is the link again for those that missed it in my earlier post:

Your graphics card may also be throttled(applicable only to Nvidia 9 Series and above cards):
Use this guide to learn to change your Power Management mode from Adaptive to Maximum Performance.

Hello, first I want to say I have a video card is not very good for games but what I find it rather odd is that, since July or June i started playing, every time the more patches and more patches are sometimes thrown I had to lower quality one less, give you an example

december: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKBGjnw4cgI

september: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZt56cIBnlw

I contact support and they explained that every league of legends patch improves or adds texture that makes the minimum requirements rise and devalue some video cards, as in this case mine, for every patch the problem would be worse, but do not see that anywhere, that .. is true?

sorry for my dramatic or whatever

Alas! Attention!

Anyways,

Included here is my DX and r3d log.

I used to run LoL with maxed settings on all options except with turned off shadows. This instance is with processing hungry apps running with the background like Firefox and Utorrent *I'm downloading and uploading*.

Now even with the lowest possible settings (vsync off, cap set, sound off), other apps off, even with game booster; the FPS drops off significantly to around 5 as the lowest and 10 as the highest for a frame of 20-30 seconds frequently while in a match. It usually starts around the 4 mins mark in my case and gets worse as the game progresses.

My FPS usually stays around 30-40 (formerly) and by only that range, I can play very well.

The issue arose in my client around December's patches.

I hope this helps.

Can you guys give an option to disable the animations on the champion selection screen? It would also be REALLY helpful if you guys made it so that the popup animation that it has found a battle and that you have 30 seconds be removed. The problem I have with both of these is because of my computer, I am almost always the last person to make it into the lobby because of how long it takes to get in. When this happens, I usually don't get to pick what I optimally want to pick most of the time because people assume that I am going to pick what the team needs. If I don't pick what the team needs then I am subject to scrutiny for waiting so long by my fellow team members.

Hey Brentmeister I have a question: does having Spybot - Search and Destroy installed but with no automation activated interfere with the FPS rate?

Also do you know if the antivirus ESET Smart Security have any option that could improve or tamper with my gaming experience?

Hello,
Every since the start of my LoL "career" I've been able to play the game at 60 FPS consistently on High Settings (With the exception of low settings for shadows). However, when I tried to play last Saturday (2/4/12), my FPS kept on dropping to 10-20 both randomly and in team fights. I thought the issue was with the client but my ping maintained at 85 steadily. Below are the things I tried in order to fix the issue but did not work:
-Reboot PC
-Reinstall League of Kegends
-System Restore to 1/31/12 when the game DID work
-Use http://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflege...s_fix_for_lol/ to fix, it helped a little, but still having choppy gameplay in team fights.

After all of this, I decided to take a look at my Memory usage in the Task bar. It turns out, when I'm in a game (just walking around, laning), I have 3.0-3.1 GB used out of my 4GB RAM, I suppose that in team fights, the game lags because all of my RAM is used. However, I'm not sure this is the problem. Another suspicion I have is that my graphics card has burned out. Since I use a Lenovo Ideapad laptop that has 2 graphics card (one being the NVIDIA GT555M suited for gaming and the other being a standard Intel graphics card), I think that my NVIDIA card may have burned out. But this seems less likely because the computer is so new and I've only been using it for LoL for about 4 months.

Anyways, I just wanted to hear you guys' opinion on this and maybe leave some tips to help me fix this issue

Thank you for your time and have a great day.
