for the love of all gaming just put a hard cap on spell vamp and give us worth while items again. while your at it make sure Morg can't over shoot the cap. Oh and cap life steal too because I totally want to be a mage trying to kill a Riven with a blood thirster under my own turret while she walks away with a kill and near full life. (sarcasm if you missed it).

This. Cap Spellvamp at lower than 2 of the end game spell vamp items, but either make them not unique or increase the WOTA and Gunblade end game vamp PLEASE.

I do agree with the revolver staying at 12% for combatting ridiculous early sustain from a few obvious champs.

Spell Vamp>Lifesteal. That's why Spell Vamp is harder to get than Lifesteal.

Also, Riven's a poor choice for that scenario. She relies on executioner damage and she has gap closers and a shield so she can normally tower dive pretty well. Also, Bloodthirster is a late game item, and late game is when turrets are not supposed to defend you, you are supposed to defend turrets.

Quite the opposite. Lifesteal >spellvamp. Unless the caster has blue buff they can't spam their spells in lane for sustain, and casters generally have front loaded damage that means, unless they're entering combat at low health, a lot of their vamp will potentially be lost if they unload on their target quickly. Since the AP carries job is, aside from CC, to quickly burst down a squishy, that doesn't synergize well with vamp. Until the last round of spellvamp item buffs several months ago it was widely considered that spellvamp was useless.
