brand: a complex, skill intensive champion that requires good positioning, perfect combos, and alot of thought

even stunning requires skill and thought. i dont think perfect play with brand EVER becomes mechanical. you are always thinking, always planning.. and if you do that well, he is very rewarding.

ahri: land your e. get kills

seriously, the skill depth of these champs is incomparable. let's compare skills:

ahri's e and brand's q are similar spells, both in cast distance and type. damage + cc.

Except brand's takes skill and finesse, ahri's takes aiming a skillshot. brand you either have to hit a W (jukable damage) or land a E (which requires LOS) and hit a Q. requires more thought, is more difficult.. you got

let's also look at their damage.

ahri's E and R

they do damage. unstoppable, unjukable damage. if she is in range, you take damage. easy. both hit even if there are creeps.

brand's W and R

jukable, skill intensive damage. both require good positioning and thought to use right

and guess what?

you almost never see brand anymore and you see ahri all the time. because ahri gives alot of the same reward as brand with a ****ton less work, on top of the fact that she is more mobile

love your decisionmaking, riot

I think Ahri takes more skill than Brand, personally..

I actually find Brand's W easier to land than Ahri's Q. Brand also has more damage in teamfights. I think people stopped playing him after his E got slightly nerfed.

Interestingly, Brand is a good counter to Ahri, because Pillar has a slightly longer cast range than both Orb and Charm. He tacks you with Pillar, he can usually get a Sear, and if he does then Conflagration is a guarantee.

Ahri has two skillshots, one which is really hard to land (charm), and has two abilities where she has not target selection.

Brand has two skillshots, one of which is piss-easy to aim (pillar), and has two on-click damage abilities, including his primary damage output in team fights.

Ahri's abilites all have multiple uses, giving her utility but meaning she can never use her abilities to their fullest extent. Target selection, placement of her ult, self-placement and placement of her ult are all important.

Brand's abilites are almost all damage-focused, beyond his single stun. He doesn't necessary have to worry about his position in teamfights, since three of his abilities don't depend on his placement (Pillar has the same radius regardless of range, as opposed to Ahri's abilities whose trajectory depends on her placement), and they are almost all damage. He also has little control over his own ult.

I would say Ahri is better because of utility and higher skillcap, not the other way around.

Also, that passive will be taxing on your sustainability, which is Ahri's predominant lane strength.

You mean you actually have to do something else besides Press R and pray to the randomizing gods that the Pyroclasm bounces to the right people?

So Ahri's E, a skillshot with one of the smallest hitboxes in the game, is unjukable? Have you even played Ahri before? Hell have you even taken a close look at her abilities? Staying by minions reduces the damage from the ult by 2/3s, staying right behind minions=can't get hit by E.

Brand: smartcast E+Q stun takes about 0.5 seconds more than Ahri's E. Average human eye blink time: 0.3-0.4 seconds.
