Does anyone know how damage is calculated in this game? Better yet, does anyone know the exact formula for damage calculations?

For example, a Champion has 100 Armor and 100 Magic Resist. This champion recieves 100 physical damage and 100 magic damage. How much damage would the champion receive?

50 physical and 50 magical.

Each point of armor increases your EHP (effective hp) by 1%. Meaning that 100 armor will double your EHP, i.e. reduce damage by 50%. 200 armor will tripple, ie reduce dmg by 66% 300 armor is 75%, etc.

This explains it pretty well: http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Champion_Statistics

Basically, without armor/mr penetration, the reduction is: resistance/(100+resistance)

so 100 of either damage against 100 armor would be %50 reduction for 50 damage.

Thanks for the clarification.

So there is no 100% damage reduction?

Certain champions have abilities that can absorb a single attack or shield themselves and/or other players from a certain amount of damage, but there is no 100% damage reduction in the sense of armor/magic resist
