"On-hit is dead." Why?

a couple of the on hit items can be decent by themselves in certain situations espcialy wits end on tanky junglers

however full on hit builds or multiple on hit items generaly gimps yourself especialy as an ad carry because they don't synergize with crit and lifesteal and even with everyon hit item do not do as much damage

max against a high health target your looking at maybe 500 damage a hit 300-400 on squishy

whereass crit/damage build will give you 1000+ per hit end game on squishy and still 500 plus on most tankies while lifestealing at the same time

sure wits end can be good on junglers and madreds can be decent on kog or vayne by themselves but building other on hits as well in one build will only gimp you both in damage and survivability

We could use a second scaling on-hit item. Madread's effectively scales, but nothing else does. Atmogs scales beautifully, even after the nerf on warmog's. There's just no keeping up with it.

Actually, technicaly Malady scales as well if you're looking at damage output. As they increase MR, it cuts out a percentage of your damage, thus removing MR using malady procs also increases your damage by a percentile. Because all of the On-hit effects are Magic damage, you really can't have On-Hit without Malady and magic pen.

If you're going on-hit you want to sell that Malady for a Void Staff late game for obvious reasons.

And another problem is... on-hit champions tend not to scale on AP well.

So to maximize their damage... they need to buy an item that gives useless stats.

And the fact that on-hit does about an even split of magic and physical, so you need to actually have some armor pen as well...

The entire penetration system is another reason why it doesn't work.

Metagolem just works far better if you're worried about midgame, scales better into late, and deals similar damage. Also, you're far tankier.
