it depends if the team or enemy will report you for leaving. and getting banned will only be temp. for about a couple of days i think.

I have heard at five you get banmed. But it depends how constant your leaving is, like, if you wait a week to leave again, you will still have level 1 leaver status.

Doesn't matter whether they report you or not. The automated LeaverBuster system drops bans depending on your leaves in recent games, which is harsher on low levels with few games.

Tribunal bans from reports take a while longer, but these are the ones that give you longer bans usually, and take 5-6 game reports to even get you in Tribunal.

There are two things that will cause leaving to result in varying degrees of punishment.

1. The automated Leaver Buster works on a frequency system. As a new player, if you're leaving 4-5 games, that could be a fairly large percentage of your games and might be a red flag for the automated system to give you a warning via suspension. As for someone like me, 5 leaves would be like 0.2% of my games. I'm no where near in trouble.

2. People reporting you for leaving might cause you to land in the tribunal, since you don't necessarily have to disconnect from a game to "leave" it. Simply not contributing is grounds for reporting, which leads to your appearing in the tribunal after enough games with reports. Punishment from here widely varies depending on the severity of the offense.

In most cases, you won't be banned without either being an extremely negative influence from the get go or without at least having been given a suspension first. There's not much leeway after that, though.

Is there a way I can see my record if I am close to getting ban?

No there is no way to see it. The system is vague so players cannot plan around it. You're supposed to leave as little as possible--giving you any idea of when you can and cannot leave does not resolve the problem of leavers in the game.
