((I will now do a different thing for each character, and the characters will meet up later.))
Melzemar awoke. He was drenched, and he could tell he was covered in sand in places where sand was not meant to be. He stood, finding that he could stand after that. By some amazing stroke of luck he survived, and he found his staff lying next to him. He would have attributed that, too, to luck, but the staff was enchanted, among other spells, to always seek him if he lost it. He looked around him. He was on an island. There were dark clouds overhead, and the island itself seemed dismal. The beach had grayish sand, about the same texture as the water. He decided to look for the others, so he walked west along the beach.
((The beach's shores run east and west))

Vintath awoke surrounded by a comfortable green shield. He was glad his instinctive defenses had been enough to protect him from harm, and he found himself dry and free of sand aswell. He stood up. He found he'd been holding his staff so there was no need to look for it. He found himself in a clearing in a forest, and that he had just gotten up from the shore of a small lake with a river running to it, presumeably from the sea. The trees' leaves were green, but it was a dead green, not the normal vibrant green of most trees. He thought he might find the others if he followed the river, so he set off.

((Zero will find herself also on the beach. There will be a forest to the north, the sea to the south, and the beach will go east-west))

((Aine will find herself in a grotto at the edge of a pool of water, there will be some passages leading somewhere. Left, center, and right.))

((Nite will also find himself in a grotto at the edge of a pool of water, though not the same one as Aine. Neither will see any way to the sea from thet pool, but it is salt water. Nite will see only two passages, left and right.))

((Overlord Forte will awake to see she is floating down a river, and will hear a roaring sound ahead. The river is in a forest, with trees of the same description of the forest Vintath is in.))

((Hrothgar will find himself in a pool at the bottom of a waterfall. There is a cave nearby. The pool is on the beach, but the cliff the waterfall is coming down from is stone, which changes to dirt and then a forest.))

Aine woke up sharply, breathing heavily. Looking around in a daze, she tried to understand what was around her, what had happened. Her vision was blurry for a moment, so she took that time to try and remember.

Adventure. Boat. Mutiny. Storm. Explosion. Black.

Well, she knew what happened now. And her vision was beginning to clear up a bit. Around her, she saw she was in a small grotto. There was a pool of water below, and three passages as well. Forcing herself to her feet, she started to put weight on her legs. They seemed fine. Reaching for her belt, she grabbed the hilt of her sword. On her left side, she grabbed a long, polished device that looked like a triangle with a curved bottom. Its tip converged instead at a circluar device. Taking a close look at it, she noted it was in fairly good condition.

She'd made it herself, after all.

Hitting a hidden button on the grip, it quickly unfurled into a thin, long shield. It was light in her hand, and securely tethered to her hand. Pulling out her sword, she prepared to enter one of the caves.

"Hmm...which one..."

She did a quick eenie-meenie-miney-moe, and decided on the one on the right. Holding a defensive position, she walked into its blackness.

Hrothgar regains consciousness in the pool after takeimg in half a lungful of water and swims to the edge of the pool

strewn about the beach are broken pieces of wood from the ship but oddly enough he could see no bodies, Hrothgar looked around and noticed he was weaponless again Hrothgar remembered he read some where that when lost the best thing to do is to wait to be found. I guess I can wait here for awhile thought Hrothgar as he began looking through the wreckage for anything useful.

Aine heard scuttling ahead, like something, or many somethings, moving through the darkness.

All Hrothgar found were bits of wood and some rope.

((Cr*p... if these are bugs, I'm doomed. Aine has no AoE, no flame, NOTHING. Looks like my profile for Jayko may be changed to 'looking for Sonika, because his old girlfriend got eaten alive by a billion insects.' 0.0 I'll play along, though.))

Aine heard the scuttling approaching. Raising her sword towards the noise, she hid behind her thin shield. "Oi! Who's there? Come out, show yourself!"

Nite awoke and stood shakily, his staff was missing which was hardly a problem as it was merely a conjuration. He investigated the Hand for any sign of the necrotic energy, if the Hand had taken to the energy, it would have absorbed it and converted it into a more useful magic. Nite conjured a light using the Hand and walked down the path to the left. He stumbled, but caught himself on the wall and stood straighter. "This day just keeps getting better and better," he muttered. He absently wondered what had become of his pet crab.

[ lol, this is going fast for me, have to try and get on more I guess ]

A pinching sensation in Forte's neck jarred her awake on the piece of shipwood she was drifting on. Frowning, she took a couple minutes to get her bearings in the river. The roaring sound of something distant was immediately noticeable, although she put it out of mind.

Boat trip ... Ah, yes. Lightning storm and undead incursion, followed by sensations of drowning. She tried breathing, only to find that her lungs were full of water. Some moments and rather uncomfortable regurgitation, Forte took in a welcome breath of air. Annoyed at this turn of events, she looked into the direction the river was dragging her and pondered where it went.

As Aine spoke a large, furry creature with many legs jumped out of the darkness at her, straight into her shield. It hit it with a loud BANG! and the scuttling stopped.
Then, it began again, louder, and dozens of the furry creatures approached from out of the darkness, climbing the walls and ceiling as well as the floor. Then, they attacked.
((They are about the size of a puppy))

Nite's hand did not appear to have absorbed any of the energy. As he walked on he, too heard the scuttling. He then heard a loud BANG and a lot more scuttling, then the sound of combat. It was coming from the direction he was headed.
