Seconding these nominations. You don't have to play on the edge like Reginald; the stuff he shows works (or at least what I've tried of it).

Plus video guides are awesome.

These vids are pretty good. I have seen cleaner guides, but these are great at showing what to do to play a champion right.

I think if this gets rolling a bit more it deserves a sticky.

Adding to my previous nominations:

I'd second nomination on all of Reginald's guides here (http://www.youtube.com/user/SolomidDOTNet)

Heat and Serve's Morde guide

The sivir ss what is and isn't blocked list

for Kassadin: A Council Member's Take on Kassadin the Voidwalker (http://runeterra.com/forums/index.php?topic=885.0)

and for twitch: The Rat Who Fell From Grace (http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board/showthread.php?t=188069&page=3)--tons of good stuff; especially the explanation of why debilitating poison>expunge.

Epic sryz for not updating! Unfortunately, things like this come with being a lazy bum so...yeah.

You don't need official features to prevent these things. Just recognize when it happens and stop it. Requiring an official process for it is a little redundant. Just explain why you decline nominations for a guide if you do.

I don't see that this numbered nomination system is really necessary for anything other than bumping the thread. If a guide gets nominated and it's that good, it should qualify. If it gets nominated and it isn't, it shouldn't. If there is doubt, it probably shouldn't.

I don't know if I like the idea of a "council," either. We should give credit to any people who contribute to this project. We should give weight to any contributions that are true and valid. There are enough people who believe in something like this that finding help won't be a problem.

Edit: It would make sense if there were guidelines as far as what constitutes an outstanding guide.

I understand where you're coming from, and I see the validity of your points. The thing is, I can't personally view and validate each and every guide that comes through the thread. I want to set up a "council" basically as a fool-proof. Most guides cover areas outside of my expertise. It would be nice to have a few people helping me out by checking guides and pointing out stuff I've missed. While I could simply let the community in general do this, I can't really trust the word of a single person this way. I would need multiple people to bring forth the issue so my list doesn't get trolled into oblivion. Once I get some people to help me with the upkeep, I might very well implement the system you described.

Well, I agree that the "generally accepted" part is tough. As far as I can tell, the only way to change what's generally accepted as viable is for a high-ranked player to come out and make a tier list that contradicts it. However, I think the OP included that rule mostly so he wouldn't have to sort through a bunch of submissions on fun builds (you know the ones I'm talking about).

I'm a laid back guy. This means that I'm rather lenient on what "generally accepted" is. A guide doesn't necessarily have to be viable in high Elo play. AP Yi is a good example of something I would accept. It might not be good in top rank play, but it's rather effective in the lower Elos. AP Yi has gotten quite a few threads, so I consider it "generally accepted." What I won't accept are builds like Tank Ashe. The most recent Tank Ashe topic is probably a good 175 pages back. I don't qualify builds as "accepted" solely by the number of threads they have, but if a novelty build has a lot of threads, there must be something about it that garners such interest. I'm not trying to stifle creativity, just ****-tivity.

I think this is an awesome thing to do, thank you. And it's probably been said before, but I'm finding a lot of entertainment in the abbreviation of nominations to noms.

I'm glad someone took the time to do this, I myself was thinking about how to go about fixing the problem of the stickied guide list being almost completely outdated.

Here are a couple Malphite guides I found to be similar and effective. Unlike the stickied guide list, these two guides are closely up to date.
