Isn't it dandy you're the one getting the butt end of the stick? what's worse is there's some guy out there that's on the winning end of those troll games, who are probably ungrateful of their luck and has to rub it in by telling you this elo system is completely fair and you're just only remembering the bad parts, good thing for them they don't remember much of the bad parts because they were lucky.

Of course it goes without saying there are a lot of positive threads created by high elo/intelligent players acknowledging the luck part of the equation but focuses more on just boosting your morale, I appreciate all of your hard work, reading those threads, and this one, gives people hope.

the funny thing is, i don't mind being on the losing end of just having a team that isn't as good. it happens. in every game, one team is not as good as the other for that game and they lose (usually). that part is somewhat luck but on the whole it should be expected that assuming you're where you should be at and are not raising or lowering your team's average skill, you'll be on the better team as often as the losing team. that is something i can live with. if i win a game i want it to be because my team just played better as a whole... not because it turns out it was a 4v6 in our favor all along.

it's just that those trolls/leavers/afkers create an outlier situation where now your skill level is not the deciding factor on your wins/losses. this gives an element of chance to something that is supposed to be fair. even gambling is a fair system. given, it's never in your favor but it's a fair system nonetheless. the odds of hitting 00s aren't going to change from game to game. it's not like every so often some guy will randomly come by and rob all of the money on the table in a casino. the same shouldn't be true for league of legends either. if a game is supposed to be taken seriously in a competitive way, you can not have somebody randomly win or lose. in football, you don't see the teams going at it when the ref comes out and declares a winner with 3 minutes to go in the first half. this is a perfectly reasonable solution to this problem as well.

Why the hell should it be a massive Elo loss for the leaver/troll? It should make them ineligible to play in ranked games for at least 2 weeks for a first or second offense. If they can't commit to keeping the ranked games clean of this kind of random **** then what is the point of solo que? See how hard I can get punked by someone who doesn't like how the first 5 minutes of the game went?

ok, let's say it's a new ban system that can get a 2 week ban against trolls after one game ignoring the tribunal (you know, working independently of one another). there are two issues i want to address with that.

1, what if it was an accident/storm/act of nature or god? the internet went down for about 30 minutes due to a heavy storm. needless to say, you lose that game you just started, but would you want to instantly be banned for 2 weeks? i'm sure that you'd feel that was unfair but it doesn't matter... you can't play for 2 weeks because of one incident that was out of your control. if they rely on multiple infractions, mind you, it would be a tribunal issue.

2, what about the trolls with multiple ranked smurfs? they exist, i have seen it in action. 4 or 5 accounts all at about 13-1500 and they only troll with a few and go for gold with the rest. what's to stop them from only trolling a few games, going back to trolling normals, then coming back to YOUR ELO to troll YOUR GAMES when those bans are out? a temporary ban stops them from playing temporarily while a massive elo drop stops them from playing in decent elos permanently or at least makes them need to win 4-5 games in order to troll one instead of just needing to go 1:1.

I totally agree with OP, something NEEDS to be done about this. But riot just ignores the MAJOR PROBLEM OF THIS GAME because theyre more worried about making new OP champions so everybody buy them with RP in the 1st week and then get nerfed in the 2nd week or making new skins so the same trolls theyre ignoring ON PURPOSE can buy and give them more money.

Despite everybody agreeing and +5000 positive votes, riot will just ignore it until someone has an idea that would give riot MORE MONEY. Then they will come in less than a sec and implement it.

the issue is, riot has to care about its community and i truly believe they do. the reason being that if the community fully degrades to what the dota community turned into near the end, the game will quickly die and nobody will spend any money on the game anymore... ever.

of course, in the end they are a company. they have bills to pay and money to make. i honestly believe that if we get enough positive votes then the programmers will get together and work on a similar fix. remember, riot has people working on a lot of issues and they have to act on the ones they have good solutions to. if somebody has come up with the same solution to this issue as me then it's entirely possible that it got pushed aside in favor of other (probably more successful) fixes to other problems. i believe that if this thread gets enough yes votes and even a glance from a red then it may be taken seriously.

as it is, i am nothing but some user who has a gold rating and very few posts on the forums to riot. it wouldn't make sense for them to see me as anything more. BUT, if this thread gets a hundred yes votes then the fix may be seen as a possible solution to a serious issue that is bothering hundreds of summoners rather than one guy whining about 'elo hell' and getting trolled. i don't want this to be seen as just another qq thread, but as a serious proposal for a solid solution to a problem that is plaguing hundreds if not thousands of summoners.

I think this is a good idea but it is a really iffy part to try to make, if you have it like a button to say if the game was unfair and you selected someone to take the blame, even if it is a majority vote from both teams, then that can still go badly because everyone and I mean everyone has a bad game every now and then so if everyone agrees to blame the person that is feeding then that could just be a little snippet of what they are normally like and then they get double or even triple punishment for one bad game? Also not everyone has good equipment, their router might drop out every now and then or their client might be a little buggy and not load properly causing them to miss most of the game, and then going back to what I said before, they get punished big time for one little thing that isn't part of the norm for them. One way to fix this I guess would be to have it build up... so if the team that lost gets a 'loss forgiven' then the person that got blamed gets 'marked' and the elo they would have lost gets stored and if in idk, a two or three weeks from the first game they get blamed they get two more then they get hit with a big loss, the elo they would have lost but double, I think triple is a little much, but if they don't then it gets wiped clean. Now I know that well the trolls will just wait and their elo wont be affected and they can keep trolling later but at least it locks them down to two games every three weeks they troll which I think is better then them trolling most of their games, or even have the 'probation' period where their elo is stored last for longer or have two counters and if they appear on the first regularly then something big can happen these are just ideas though because I am sick of the trolls that have killed my elo. Also something like a ready check would be nice because I got stuck two games in a row where the person who was 'captain' was afk and didn't ban anyone.
