First off, I'm not a very experienced Ryze player.

So I had this game vs Oriana mid lane. Her spells, when landed right, would almost take half of my hp.
Even though I tried to harass her, my Q and W weren't hurting her much.

Any tips for mid lane in general with Ryze, and vs Ori in particular?

My runepage :

Magic Pen
ManaPM
Magic resist
3 armor quints

Riven is like a better version of Ryze.

I had a similar experience when I played Ryze yesterday against a Caitlyn mid. She started with Doran's Blade and had 6 pips of health at level 1. My Q was barely doing half a pip's worth of damage to her, and my auto attack probably tickled her health bar.

Meanwhile, I started with Mana Sapphire and 2 health pots, and had 4 pips of health. Her Auto Attack, non headshot, had just as much range as my Q and was doing a little over half a pip in damage.

She more or less dominated the lane. I didn't feed her, I had to play a ton of defense, but I could in no way harrass her at all without risk of death. My team eventually won the game, but it took me a while to get rolling.

So here's the deal.

Orianna has the highest skillcap in the game.

The only way to beat her is to get against a bad one.

lol ori's skillcap is no where near EZ's once a real fight starts between skilled players, heck in playing zil can be more complicated at times
