Why do you loose 10 AD when you combine all the ingredients? Also it sucks. If you buff it, then tanky DPS won't be required every game.

Yeah, but you gain a lot of magic damage instead...

Yeah, but the person you buy the MBR for generally has at least 55% MR, so you get about 1.8% health damage per hit, which generally ends up being 50 extra damage per hit, which really isn't effective versus someone with 3000+ HP.

And yet it's still more damage than you lost.

The % damage from Madred's Bloodrazor always ends up totaling more than the physical damage that you lose from the upgrade, almost regardless of the amount of magic resistance that your opponent builds.

55% MR is 120 MR. Base MR is 30-50 on champs, and not many have MR per level naturally.

Even WITH 55% MR and 3k HP though, you deal +54 damage per proc for that -10 AD.

not to mention armor needs to be taken into account, and usually tanks get 150-200 armor, giving them between 60-66% damage reduction

you arent trading 10 damage for 54 damage, you're trading 4 damage for 54 damage

Fixing MBR is easy tho. Remove pickaxe from the build path.

Assuming 0 Magic Resist and 0 health regen, MBR alone kills someone in 25 hits.

It's an item that, while effective against high health targets, doesn't synergize well with many champions. It's icing on the cake for Kog'maw, for example, but not quite the same for Ashe. Ashe is better off grabbing a bloodthirst, inifinity blade, or even a Last Faith before MBR, even against tankier teams.

Part of this is that most AD based champions don't have magic penetration, so you never see the full 4% extra damage.

Sure, you could have 30 AD + ~47 magic damage per hit.
Or you could have 80 AD, all of which works with the armor penetration you already have and will get, for a comparable if not cheaper price.

Unique Passive: Your damaging attacks add a stack of Frenzy to your champion. For each stack of frenzy, your attacks deal damage equal to 1% of your target's maximum health as magic damage. This may stack up to 8 times, and last for 2 seconds.

A passive like this would start off weaker at first but gradually build up as the Carry continues attacking. It is much less effective therefore against lower health and squishier targets since they simply will not live that long.

Against someone who it could take 10-20 shots to take down, it is a huge buff, and the short duration prevents someone from pre-stacking unless they're fighting on top of a minion wave.

the only ones who dont get it are ranged. ALL tanky dps characters do. in fact, it's 30+1.25/level.
and since merc treads are a given, thats 77.5, which is 44% resist.
