I'm a casual fan. Riot has +$100k invested.

I know of no one involved. Riot has their personal emails and phone numbers.

"Take your complaints to WCG" with nothing further is just a BS copout. Pendragon is being honest, in his capacity as Community Rep. The dishonesty is the information that he's given, that Riot is taking a hands off approach to this tournament. They absolutely can make a difference in the on-going management of this tournament.

Don't fall for the same old tricks, where the community manager of the MMO is a "really great guy who seems like a straight talker". That's what he's paid to do, by a company that doesn't give the slightest ****. Pendragon cares, the corporation behind him does not.

Simply because Pendragon encouraged you guys to discuss this with the WCG does not mean that we have not and will not also discuss this with them.

zomg.

edit:

Marc,

if anything make sure that any tournament that spotlights your game upholds its rules and standards because when you fail to do so, it makes your product look inferior. imagine if this scenario had happened if WCG were hosting both LOL and DOTA 2(something that future venues will host together at the same time). people would laugh at League of Legends and say things like "the people who organize their tournaments can't even read their own rules or even uphold them." thus instantly losing credibility and perhaps popularity. people are upset because this is an incident that was preventable. nothing happened with USA WCG that could not have been prevented if someone had been more careful or had done their job better.

This man is correct and I personally have no doubt that there are discussions going on right now.

The unfortunate part is that the damage is mostly done, and it could EASILY have been prevented if any of the involved parties had a sense of sportsmanship. Clearly, Dignitas and WCG are lacking there.

The best move Dignitas's LoL team can make now is to leave Dignitas and go back to being Rock Solid, or find a different sponsor. The more I see of this, the more I am convinced that these guys were just going with what the Dignitas managers were telling them to do. They're young and people make mistakes, and hopefully they learn from them. It's clear the managers at Dignitas have no regard for sportsmanship, and they should leave that team.

But that's the problem, even that statement entirely diffuses blame to them. Why didn't Riot exercise more control over a major tournament? Seeing as how the execution of the tournament reflects on Riot as a company, shouldn't it be someone's job to ensure these things run smoothly?

You guys really need to communicate with us, the community, better on these issues. Your head of eSports has disappeared after playing a significant part in all of this. Now it seems that you guys have realized you can't sweep this under the rug so you're trying to shift blame. Regardless, injustices occurred and it seems like nothing will be done to right them.
