Example of such skills:
Lee Sin's Sonic Wave / Resonating Strike (Q)
Lee Sin's Safeguard / Iron Will (W)
Lee Sin's Tempest / Cripple (E)
Twisted Fate's Destiny / Gate (R)
LeBlanc's Distortion (W)

What can be improved:
Once these double skills have been used, their icon is still lit up, but you cannot tell how long the cooldown is until you cannot use it anymore. If you need to cast another skill in between, such as Lee Sin's Tempest/Cripple combo to slow, you may not know if/when you can use resonating strike to finish as you have to guess.

Sure, experienced players CAN and will keep a mental memory of roughly when the ability times out, but the same applies for dragon. Great players know roughly when dragon will spawn, but getting a specific timer can mean the difference between a teamfight + enemy ace at dragon or a quick dragon and retreat.

The benefit for newer players is that they can learn the champions quicker and have a less confusing and much more simple mechanics that still allow for a high skill cap.

How it can be improved:
When a skill is on cooldown, the skill is blacked out and a clockwise cooldown with a timer appears over it. For this purpose, when the first skill of a chain-skill is used, the skill is slightly BRIGHTENED instead of blacked out and a COUNTER clockwise cooldown appears. This allows for players to tell the difference between both, and make those clutch plays.
