CDE managed to beat our team last week in the first set but as usual in a double elimination bracket the team coming from the lower bracket has to win two BO3 matches. Tonight's outcome will decide the winner of the tournament.

What a *******s posting specifically the words "as usual".

And oh yeah, scumbag jatt.

iirc iwearacape (europe´s last year wcg lol team, now known as sk although sk changed his team) had the same situation as cde. they won 2 GAMES and went to WCG.

Read the comment on team dignitas. either team dignitas deleted all comments against them or they are just retarded to see that they dont deserve to get a wcg trip.

That is "as usual" for competitive gaming. Otherwise the winners bracket gets no advantage for NOT LOSING PREVIOUSLY.

dat bias.

Its only as usual if all the matches in the tournament are BO3, this tournament from my understanding was BO1 until the semi's and finals.

This means 2 losses eliminate you from the tournament, not losing 2 matches (BO3's).

Dignitas lost twice in finals, they are out. Double Elimination.

Hence why if CDE had lost once, they would have been completely eliminated.

CDE was defeated in a bo3 by Dig in the semi finals 2 to 1.

Double elimination means that you have winner and loser brackets. The Winner bracket finalist reaches there undefeated aka 0 eliminations. The loser bracket winner gets there with 1 elimination.

The rules were not communicated correctly and Dig & CDE played a bo3 with 1 game advantage to Dig. The intent was to have a 1 set advantage meaning Dig had to lose 2 bo3s to be eliminated, and CDE had to lose 1 bo3 to be eliminated. But WCG messed up by having rules not properly posted on their site nor communicated effectively.

The reason it is this way is because it is unfair to send the winners bracket team home when they have only suffered one loss. Even the 1 game advantage in a bo3 can be deemed unfair because they have still only lost the same number of games as they beat all the other winner bracket teams already.

That's why other games extend the finals to bo5 or 7 when the semis are best of 3. That way the winners have to lose more games than it took them to eliminate the other teams.
