The whole scoring system, and quests, and the way Dominion works is an illusion, that most idiotic players don't realize, to make people "not turtle" - because turtling is "anti-fun".

People think they have to capture all 5 points, and the respawn timers are set so that the "losing team" revives in 5-10 seconds at full hp/mana and can blow the other team out of the water, while the "winning team" takes 30 seconds to respawn, so that the other team has a chance to comeback.

Dominion doesn't reward skillful play, it "apparently" rewards idiotic play, because that "feels" fun and more fast paced.

Fuk1ng ******s at Riot do not realize that's not what made DotA a success, braindead non-skilled gameplay. They think a "good gameplay" design is how well you "feel" when you hit a skillshot (which most aren't to be honest, given how easy it is to hit ppl with them) like Blitz's grab or Riven's ult.

I give u an upvote but "fun" and "noob friendly" are what make LoL success.

Defense definitely needs a boost. I did manage a 1st on Heimer but only barely thanks to combat score.

I do feint backdoors for the sake of pulling people away from points to ease the burden on defense, but if it just gets you killed regularly, than one should realize its doing more harm than good if you dont have 3 points already.

Removing personal score wouldn't fix the lack of defense, people are still getting accustomed to the tower dynamics. However, defenders deserve much more points than they currently receive.

Honestly. What is defense?

Killing people is defense.
Trade capping to prevent damage to your nexus is defense.
Camping at a tower and taking pot shots at people is defense.
Crowding is defense.

Everyone has their own version of defense and everybody seems to think they have the best way of playing. You call them bad because they don't play the way you want, but you're not playing the way they want either. That's not a case of a bad Dominion player. It's just bad team work.

I play a ton of games as Singed where my entire job almost the whole game is to guard bottom and our backdoor. Part of this job of c ourse is keeping the minion line pushed away from your bottom node, which means you don't get point defense procs except if you sit on your node.

Am almost always 5th place, despite having usually the best K ratio and holding my node the entire game.

Champs like Singed have to keep the minion line pushed, this is how they keep a node defended, especially at bottom. It's not like Heimer who can literatlly just idle on the node with turrets up and get good score.

Main problem actually isn't points awarded for defending, though 5 is too low; the problem is there are no diminishing returns on capping. If 4 people cap an enemy node, everyone gets 80 points. It doesn't matter if the enemy laughs at them and caps 2 other points while your team is derping at one point, the 4 man blob just runs around re-capping and getting 80 points a pop. Then they lose the game and rage at the scapegoat sole defender who has the lowest score by a wide margin.

Defending points don't just need an increased, points awarding for capping need to be lowered and/or shared between multiple cappers. If that 4-man cap only awarded 10 points a person, people would cut it out. Or, better yet, ELIMINATE PERSONAL SCORES AS IT DOES NOT MEASURE CONTRIBUTION IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY.
