EDIT - We have sent out a hotfix for these issues. If you are still experiencing performance issues please create a new thread, or submit to our support site

Greetings summoners,

We're seeing multiple reports of slow pvp.net speeds and possible impact on gameplay. We're currently investigating this, but so we can track this down as soon as possible, we could use your data.

If you are experiencing slow down in the PVP.net client with the latest patch, please post your DXDiag files here, in this thread as an attachment.

To create a DXDiag file -

For Windows XP:

  • Click "Start" to open the start menu and then click "Run"
  • Type in "dxdiag" and click "ok". The DirectX Diagnosis window should pop up.
  • Once it is done collecting data, click "Save all information" to save the report as a .txt file.

For Windows Vista/ 7 :
  • Click "Start" to open the start menu and enter "dxdiag" (without quotes) in the search.
  • Dxdiag.exe should then appear in the selection window. Run this program.
  • Once it is done collecting data, click "Save all information" to save the report as a .txt file.

How to attach the files to a post
  • When replying to this thread, click the "Go Advanced" button
  • Scroll down to Additional Options, and click the "Manage Attachments" button.
  • Find your DxDiag text file, hit "Upload"
  • Wait for the file to appear in the list, then you can close the window.
  • Type a quick reply like "Here's my file"
  • Submit your reply

We appreciate your information and patience while we investigate this. Thank you again!

edit - Hohums has posted a temporary work around, we still want your dxdiags though!

For the Ravine patch specifically we have something that may help and are working on a fix. I looked into this issue myself and was so focused that I didn't have time to provide an update. I can't promise that it will help everyone.

However currently the workaround is to set LolClient.exe to idle (or Low) while running the game.
Here's an example of how to do this: http://www.wikihow.com/Change-Proces...s-Task-Manager
From what I've determined this doesn't seem to help XP machines.

(Lack of Windows 7 instructions, but was easy enough regardless.)

I mainly experienced choppiness when setting masteries in champion select. Though Masteries have been choppy without even being in queue atleast twice.

Hope this helps.
