I like the changes to his W (especially not losing the aura effect), but his new ult change so far seems like a nerf.

Anyway, I believe the most effective way to build him might be a tankish support, with Aegis, Frozen Heart and such.

Yeah, after playing him a few times, certinaly missing his old ult. The way I used to play him I could leave that thing on for nearly a minute, tanking their whole team late game. With this new ult he's super squish, which means more tank items are needed to fill the same role. Then again, this is probably just Riot trying to turn him into an actual tank, since they've had him labeled as such forever.

You're wrong. Taric's original kit was designed as a tanky DPS. No lie, ask his creator.
