Why Dominion is "delayed" / "not out yet" / "missing" / "not released" / etc..

Customer's perspective of "Shortly after pax":

2~3 days

Riot Staff's perspective of "Shortly after Pax":

2~3 patch cycles.

RIOT STAFF. HORRIBLY MISUNDERSTOOD.

Just thought I'd throw this out there.

So many people do not understand how a business is run. You all watch too much television where everything is resolved within 1 hour.
In reality, this kind of thing takes a little longer then your average drama series. (Ever try to get a court date? 2 weeks is considered LIGHT SPEED. Riot's working at light speed!)

Stop living in your delusional utopia and take a look around you. This is how reality works. Get used to it, or you'll never be happy.

But what i am wondering what clues are there to different release dates.

Riot's learned to not give actual dates or make public promises.

Stuff can always happen between "Time of making the promise" and "Time of promised results" that force the promise to be broken.

There is no actual release date set in stone. It'll be ready when its ready.
All other clues/hints/suggestions are speculation and therefore, not reliable.

edit: Some Riots say Dominion should be released with Riven. But you never know, expect the unexpected. Problems may occur.

My main problem with this is how misleading and contradictory everything is. If they said the gamemode was coming out shortly after PAX, then how do they also "have no ETA?" That one confuses me a little. You can't know something is coming "soon" without an ESTIMATED time of arrival, right?

If you saw the streams, you saw that Dominion was pretty much done. However, the minor bugs they needed to patch, they have no idea how long those bugs will take. Therefore, there is no ETA, but in their mind, between the bug fixes and also making sure that Dominion is properly distributed internationally (since they have to work through 3rd party companies for certain regions), that could take days, could take a month, could take 2 months. But, in their mind, it is "soon" since they had already over 13 months in work on it.

Only a 'customer' who knows nothing about software development could think this. We knew it wasn't in a releasable state at Pax.

What we had was a polished demo. Behind the scenes, it was nowhere near releasable. This always happens with polished 'presentation software;' naive customers think they can start using it right away without realizing how unstable everything is below the surface.

Without knowing exactly what state the software was in, we have no reason to take "shortly" as any less than a month, but quite possibly longer.

A lot of people barely know anything about software development beyond basic level computer science courses, and even a basic software development class is 100x harder than the **** CS courses if the teacher is enough of a ****. Now just imagine how hard it is to program something like LoL.

Truely, the vast majority of players are unaware of this issue and it was not explicitly noted when giving a "when."

They could have done PR slightly better by either noting the issue when giving a vague time frame or could have used a less-polished version so people wouldn't mistakenly think that it was immediately releasable. However, given that Pax is Pax, they probably spent a fair chunk of time to make a nice presentable version to build more interest.

"When was PAX?"
"Oh not too long ago"
"Oh so its still shortly after PAX?"

Stop whining little girl. Just because your not good at SR doesnt mean you have to come to the forums and cry like every other baddie.

You can't even pass 1200 Elo in solo queue. Just shut up, the community has the right to complain when Riot has clearly broken their word.
