As we go on and the champion roster gets larger, it seems kinda overwhelming to see so many champions at once and many of them desirable buys we may be at the point where it'd be 'ok' to allow a few unlocks to help ease the 'wow that's a lot of stuff to get' factor

For example: Upon reaching summoner level 10 you can unlock 1 champion of choice and again at level 20 and finally once more at level 30.

Or: Getting a free set of runes+1 t1 quint at level 10/ 1 t2 quint+ 6T2 runes at level 20/
1T3 quint +3 T3 Runes at level 30. Preferably these runes would be some predetermined set of general use runes (Such as HP, armor or mr, or utility effects as even a basic set of T1's can make a significant difference compared to not having any runes at all.)

It rewards dedicated players, and encourages pushing through the grind to 30 with a tangible reward. Unlocking more rune slots is cool and all but you still have to go buy the runes and a up and coming player then has to split their choices between runes and champions and many newbies choose to buy champions rather than runes, then complain about being weaker than others because they don't have runes yet as all their IP is going into collecting champions.

Giving them a few free runes even if they're only T1's or T2's. could go a long way to educating players on why runes are important.

I like this. Particularly the free champions at the designated levels. Maybe something like mid-tier champions for Lv.10/20 and a mid/high-tier champion for level 30.

Or maybe a RP reward, of maybe something like 325RP for every 10 levels earned. That way, if you save up until level 30 you'll be able to buy a 975RP skin. (Although with the frequent sales it'd probably be hard not to spend it). That way it gives players (especially younger players) who don't have access to a credit card or any sort of income for Riot Points to experience a little of what it's like having them.

Really though, any sort of rewards for accomplishments in any game are well deserving and really make you wanna earn them.

Even just a little bump of IP each level would be nice. At 100-200 Bonus IP a level, you could get a less expensive champion or two every ten levels, or buy a few runes.

With the IP, Riot doesn't even have to worry about people having already bought a champion they would give as a free unlock, or with players just unlocking the most expensive champions they can.

They could even do a little bonus for hitting 10, 20 and 30. Bump the IP up to 500 for those levels? or give a free 4 win IP boost or something.

That's not a bad idea...but an IP boost would have to be significant or come coupled with runes to feel like much of a reward. I've actually come up with a 'revised' version of my original thought....

For reaching summoner level 10- 1350 IP, +5 random Tier 1 runes, Summoner level 20- 3150 IP+ 5 random T2 runes, Summoner level 30- 4800 IP+ 3 Random Tier 3 quints.

This eases the transition into each tier of runes. While providing enough IP to boost you toward a new character. Or more runes

Keep in mind these bonuses are only ever acquired once and it never gives enough IP at once for the 6300 characters leaving new characters and 'legendaries' just out of reach(Which is just as well as they're the most frequently patched characters)

It does however allow free choice of champion since it gives IP, but rather than allowing you any champion limits you by only providing enough IP for the older and reduced price champions at first(which there are many solid picks in) Then providing enough IP for a slightly more complex champion, then finally putting just enough IP in pocket for one of the few 4800 champions which are often overlooked due to their odd price point. All the while giving just enough runes for a person to keep their rune pages up to snuff as they advance through the levels kinda like a starter kit to help them along from time to time.
