Dominion is a nice idea, but...

I never thought of UT's onslaught when i saw the announcement, but yeah it is similar and that was fun, i am really looking forward to this gaetype and map, when i saw Dominion announced the gametype i linked it to was capture the point in Company of Heroes, and it was me and my friends personal favorite gametype in that, and i look forward to seeing Riots take on the game-type.

edit: after posting this, i realised my post is kinda pointless, so here's my thoughts on the onslaught gamemode in league, its a cool prospect, but (i'm not exactly certain of the map layout) but if people could spawn near the enemy base it ccould cause spawn/base camping if the enemy team is bad/good enough to hold them other team there, then it just turns into a i'm bored of spawning and dying, but i shouldn't judge until i know the full mechanics and layout of the gametype and map.

I'm Mostly curious as to if anyone at Riot has ever tried to think of a way to make a Team Deathmatch mode of sorts, i enjoy the standard kill the towers kill the base style but sometimes i just feel like...killing...endlessly...

frankly if this mode existed too it would get rid of all the KDR freaks, who cost you the match but then brag endless about their KDR and how the rest of the team blew it, out of The current kill towers style.

any plans for a CTF gamemode? make it so the flag carrier cant use their abilities/attack and is slowed (so they have to be escorted, but they can drop the flag to fight at the risk of losing it)

What makes Dominion any different from modes like Domination in Call of Duty? Personally I'm really looking forward to Dominion and I trust you guys when you say it has strategy because I can see the potential, but how would it not turn into the "respawn ASAP and run as fast as you can to one target point and just kill anyone in your way" mindset that CoD has at a basic level with no strategy?

The fix they implemented for that was increasing the team size and the number of nodes. What happens is you add (in SR example) jungle nodes. So now the combat can move up and down nodes as opposed to just along.

While I agree that the "in order" point was a detriment, not being able to recapture/rebuild/sustain towers in SR has always been a bit of a letdown for me. I really wish that there was some item that was buyable that could heal a tower, or build a secondary (though weaker) tower in place of the one lost. Sometimes a lane just fails hard and they don't bother telling anyone/asking for help until the tower is near-dead/dead, and early game that lost map control can seal the fate of the game. It'd be interesting, to say the least.

Not if you changed what you had to do, say something for instance, kill 1 tower move on to the next place where all your team has to capture a point for certain amout of time, then move on again and run into maybe death pit, where you have to avoid obstacles and work together, sacrificing some people to get past and grab an item which you would then use to destroy the final part (lets say the item in question is the only thing that can damage the final part). just an example

If the goal is action, as opposed to a traditional feel of LoL.

That sounds exactly like Nation Wars from Cabal ∩( ・ω・)∩

But what is so bad about having a different Gametype on a similar gameplay as SR?

I crave for All randoms, Single Draft and so on.

Anything that could just change our little routine in SR would still be fresh.
