How deep a performance drop can I expect? If the poster above me is down to 20 FPS, which is what I got using Windows Vista with my 1gb RAM, Nvidia 6150, and AMD 2.2 ghz duocore, would I be down to unplayable on Ubuntu...11.04 I think is the most recent one?

EDIT: Figured I'd try it anyway, but I'm stuck on part 1, step 4 XD My system has neither option that you mention?
Doubleedit: The software center says I have "Software Sources" installed, I just can't find where to execute the darn thing XD

yes, ubuntu is the latest, but I still have 20 - FPS, in fight go to 10 or 5 = /
I'll give up playing in Linux, will wait Riot Games to release something or someone makes up the same performance in Windows 7

Thanks, I only installed Windows to play LoL.

This has been a tricky game to get working under GNU/Linux.

I'm sure it is, but a bit buggier and slower than using Windows.

Too bad I'm a total Linux noob and can't get past step 4 XD

I ask because this...

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManage...sion&iId=19141

shows all tests and whatnot to be garbage. So if he did tailor a new package why not submit it?
And does it bug out with every update? Too soon to tell?

This is legit. It wasn't posted on the WINEHQ website because its a PPA and only works under Ubuntu derived distros. It works just as well as it did before they broke linux support, which I'm sad to say, isn't great. Its playable for me, just not the same experience as I would have on Windows. I think a lot of the playability issues could be solved with updating the models and particle effects to be more WINE / Linux friendly, you could always try browsing Leaguecraft or any other site that post custom skins and see if theres a pack to help increase in-game performance. If I come across one, I'll let you know.

But yes, this is legit. Currently I'm working on a video for the tutorial, maybe that'll be easier to follow for some people?

Thanks,
TJ

Thats why I said to use the Ace Client. The Ace Client is a separate client from the official, that allows modding the files generally for aesthetics. You apply updates manually using this client.

Here's a link. Their site can sometimes have a ton of ads, so I'd recommend an ad-blocker, but yes they're legit and have been doing this since beta.

You're running Unity, I assume? Well I'll have to download a copy and make a video tutorial. Give me a few hours and I'll have one finished.
