Masteries, Runes, and Pre-game

Ideally a player should be able to fully configure everything in the pre-game time. Currently, there isn't enough time to do masteries properly and certainly not enough time to do anything related to runes. If you have to do any discussing or coordinating pre-game you will run out of time before you can redo your masteries.

Thus there need to be ways to configure things faster or there needs to be more pre-game time.

One idea to buy a little time in masteries is having shift+click fill a chosen mastery to the max or empty it out completely. If this is done on a mastery with a pre-req, it also automatically fills the pre-req for you.

One other nice suggestion would be to just handle the masteries like the Runes, so 3 Trees and at the Pre-Game you have to choose wich tree you want.

There is plenty of time in fact I have not once seen a player fully ready with plenty of time to spare. Once everyone is more familiar with everything then theres even less of a time issue. You select your champion which only takes a couple of seconds once you know them all, you select one of your pre-made rune pages which again takes a couple of seconds b/c you have them created based on maybe tank/dps/magic and then you pick your spells which when you only have 5-15 to choose from shouldn't take all that long. Then you still have plenty of time left to chat with people in the game such as "get on vent match 13 blue" or something like that.

Masteries are not really many to be reconfigured before every game. Because if so you are right there is not enough time for it. Thats why they are not included in the main tab.

Respeccing during champion selection is more of an 'easter egg' placeholder right now, for until we have time to implement a better spec-choosing system.

It seems like it would be really obnoxious to have to go and reconfigure masteries for all the heroes you play every time you gain a mastery point.

Perhaps if you create a mastery template system, you should allow the option for a level 1 summoner to do a 30 point mastery and it remember the order in which the points were applied. This way if they level up, it automatically starts using the mastery with the next point applied. You only have to do your mastery tree once per hero.
