[QUOTE=RiotNick;9255384]Our response to the conflict of interest presented to us was not a kneejerk reaction; we considered input from teams and debated choices between Marcou and myself. We could not ban a team based on speculation and switching the #7 and #8 seed presented what we consider the best option.

Dreamhack qualifiers represent those that are at the pinnacle of skill in their region. Seeding is a matter of perception and regardless of seed a team must prove they are a top three team to attend the finals; this includes who they play in the first round.

We stand by our seeding but acknowledge your concern, again this decision has nothing to do with TSM or CLG, integrity in eSports is a paramount concern.[/QUOTEDont even talk fa.g, go masterbate with phreak or something, no one wants you here

totally support this post.

Someone is suspicious Eg will throw a game and give TSM a free win, so what do they do? They "fix" the situation by giving them a guaranteed win and then make CLG play the team with Westrice, Doublelift (both top 6 ranked players!) and Dan dihn. #1 seed means nothing now, it would be better to be the #2 seed.

I have an idea to fix this---give CLG #2 seed since they earned the advantage!

The entire point of the argument is so much time was invested in having a tournament to determine seeding. CLG finished first in that tournament only to have the seeds manipulated so they don't get rewarded for months of hardwork and $100k at stake.

Saying a team should or shouldn't beat a team isn't relevant to the argument. Riot essentially punished CLG for being the #1 team AND not being suspected of any wrongdoings. If any seeding should have been switched (which it shouldn't have) make it be 2 plays 6 and 3 plays 7.

Hotshot is completely right, and causing a big stir is the only way he was going to have any chance of getting a change in the situation. He already has said that he tried multiple times over multiple days to contact those in charge and get the matter resolved internally and got no responses.

I want to see Whale beat TSM, that would be so hilarious. But the fact that Riot is willing to destroy their integrity and completely screw over a tournament that's been planned for almost a year based solely on the suspicion that something might happen is a terrible decision on their part and stops them from gaining any credibility from the competitive gaming community.

The little CLG babbys will never beat the Euro teams anyway, so who care?

In some situations, a seeding restriction will be implemented; from 1975 until 1989, the NFL and, since seeding began in 1998, MLB have a rule where at the conference or league semifinal, should the top seed and last seed (wild card) be from the same division, they may not play each other; in that case, the top seed plays the worst division champion; the second-best division champion plays the wild card team.

Riot you have already made yourselves looks like asses. If you don't reverse stupid decisions, you only make yourselves look more stupid. Standing by stupid decisions never got anyone anywhere. I hope someone from Dreamhack who has experience running tournaments gets on the phone and tells you to stop being stupid.

1) CLG has legitimately earned the #1 seed in this tournament. Therefore, CLG has earned the rights to the easiest route to the finals. It does not matter whether CLG should be able to beat EG; they have EARNED this placement and bracket. Riot's taking that away is unfair, unjust, and unprofessional.

2) The problem was caused by a SINGLE summoner (Dan Dinh), who has expressed that suspicions caused by his words are false. If Riot is so concerned with this problem, the obvious solution would be to suspend Dan Dinh in EG's match against TSM. This would localize the disruption caused by said player and not affect innocent third parties (CLG). This sollution may give team EG a disadvantage, but the current fix gives an innocent third party (CLG) a larger, unwarranted disadvantage.

3) By changing the bracket, they not only unjustly gave CLG a harder bracket placement, but also gave TSM (one of the implicated parties) an easier route. As Rambo said on HSGG's stream, "Riot thinks EG will give TSM an advantage, so they change the bracket and guarantee that TSM gets an advantage."

4) It is COMPLETELY irrelevant that CLG should be able to beat these teams in order to proceed. Underdogs win, upsets happen. This is life, not a question of whether 2 is bigger than 1.

5) By changing the rules, Riot is stepping into unchartered territory in competitive gaming. This is not what you want to do; this is blatantly unprofessional decision is what is holding Riot back from being a successful competitive game.

CLG deserves a better explanation than the one given by RiotNick. Riot, if you go through with this, you honestly need to explain your reasoning and thought process behind this change, and why suspending Dan Dinh is not a better choice.
agree^ so sad so many idiot don't understand this.
