what if you used evelynn to tank the creeps, while a shaco set up a jack in the box trap for when the enemy champions try to come stop you

Why would you WANT to do this? So your lane can get pushed deep into enemy lands? Over extend yourself for a free gank? Close off the option of your jungler ganking by a large margin? Seems like an overall detriment to your lane.

Breaking a tower early on can be nice, but too early and it hurts your farm, imo.

That might work, but it'll require lots of coordination (may work well in premades). The point in using this strategy is shut down enemy push while another champ, preferably a good solo champ, distracts the enemy champs. So unless the enemies are newbies that never use the minimap or your team has 3 solo-capable champs, I wouldn't recommend doing a 2-man minion block.

its too bad that alistar doesnt have his old passive, otherwise you could have an eve stop the minions, while alistar walks with the first creep wave and gets several free hits on the enemy tower

"doesnt work" is for sissies. i've been working on a creep blocking method for the past couple of days, and it's working pretty well despite people claiming it's impossible. creep pulling may also be possible/viable, but it'll require more experimentation.
youtube has a heimer video creep blocking which is pretty epic... but they have since fixed it so it should no longer be possible.

This was viable because of the existence of Stout Shield.

is there a similiar item in LoL?

I'm afraid the answer is "No." =/

I'm thinking if you're hiemerdinger, you can probably pull it off. Drop a turret back there and let it do the work. How much can a hiemer turret take out?

Do you mean the one where he blocks his own creeps for half the game and then releases them all at once in an uber creep wave. Fixed.

Done it with singed...its funny as hell if its against a solo laner or an aggressive lane that goes to your side and cant gank you before the wave is gone and support is on the way. Most of the time it will get you killed as its hard to escape if their jungler or mid decideds to join the party.

Total troll start, but still very funny, and effective when it works...which is almost never.

Ideally the idea is that Eve destroys the minions and gets away, essentially pushing your lane before the lane phase even begins.

Despite what you might think, this is actually a good thing, because the opponent who is no doubt sitting in the brush or in the middle of the lane will either then pull back to kill you, meaning your minions hit the tower, die, and he gets 0 creep score while you got a full wave of Creepscore.

Eve is the idea choice because of her ability to stealth run away and her passive means she takes less damage. The opposing hero however, if they decide to ignore you taking out the minions, will be taking full damage from minions, which will be rough on a squishy champ like Rhyze. So that's not even an option.

This is not so much a mid game tactic as an early game starter to jump ahead in gold and XP. Its a high risk high reward scenario. The idea is that Eve would be solo in top lane, and she goes in to tank and kill the minions. Then stealths away before anyone can come in and gank her. This will also probably pull their jungler off their route.

If you can preform this properly, there is really NO downside. You get creep score. Your opponents either don't get creepscore or sacrifice their sustainability in lane, and you're more likely to have early damage on their tower.
