How much MR does an enemy need in order to make Bloodrazor not worth the gold value of it's purchase? I understand that this will be based entirely on what their total HP happen to be, but I am curious if anyone has done the work or happens to know some easy numbers?

hmmm. 2500 HP is the average it seems. 100 extra damage on Bloodrazor
1000g for AS
1000g or so for 30 AD
400 or so for Armor.
that leaves 1400 worth of AD. About 40 ADs worth
60% reduction from MR.
Which is.....abput 175 MR

I don't think there's an easy way to do this. Factors that matter for bloodrazor:

Your magic pen.

Your armor pen (because getting more AD is better when you can penetrate more armor).
Their magic resist.

Their armor (again, if they have a lot of magic resist AND armor, then it doesn't matter, but they're stacking MR and neglecting armor, getting more AD would be better.

Any steroid skills you might have. Ex: Kog'Maw has an improved attack speed steroid, so Bloodrazor is good for him (his Q's active is Armor Pen, but it has such a ****ty range that it rarely gets used.)

Generally, for autoattack champs (because who else would get a Bloodrazor?), Infinity Edge is better, especially because the bonus damage from Bloodrazor doesn't scale with Armor Pen, crit chance, or crit damage. Some champs, like Kog'Maw and Warwick, have kits that make a bloodrazor a little better than it would be otherwise. Koggie likes to stack MPen for his other abilities, and Warwick's ultimate has you attacking five times regardless of attack speed. You should not buy a bloodrazor to counter a single very high hp champ (Cho'Gath), because you shouldn't be focusing the tank anyway. A bloodrazor is only worth it against teams that have multiple tanky champs, and only if they have MR less than or equal to their armor (not exact, but that's the rule of thumb that I use). Think of bloodrazor more as a way to change the type of damage you do.

You have to consider weather or not were you to buy ad items you would get scaling on heros, and also pen scales with more ad and your base dmg as well as crit, bloodrazor is kinda a good A-single offensive item because a full ad build with ie bloodthirster(crit/pen/lifesteal etc) would scale better than mixing in bloodthirster or B-you get mag pen and benifit from attackspeed and already synergise with mag dmg on hit(teemo.kog mah type stuff with malady builds and all). The issue is buying that item on a traditional ad hero limits your scaling as you get less out of other end tier items like ie bloodthister bc last whisper etc.

Somewhat but the high AS, the armor, some AD, its a decent item if your Armor pen, but teemo/kog that are already gettting mpen, to counter the MR , its golden even vs mr. All it takes is a void staff and your still doing 3% hp per shot after mr

If you are playing mf/cait/corki/ashe DO NOT GE TBLOODRAZOR "BC TANKS IS OP QQ !!!!WHINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " its not good on those heros you need lastwhisper/black cleaver crit IE etc you do physical dmg you gimp your dmg by going bloodrazor to "counter tanks" NONONONO, thats what tanks do tank get over it and build correctly.

Bloodrazor is a good choice for champs who have an AS steroid, don't have abilities that scale with AD, and have better synergy with AS than critical chance or Arpen. If the champ doesn't pass all 3, then most likely there are better options.
