I know that as a new player (I consider myself new, even though I'm level 30...only been playing about 3 months or so), it was VERY difficult to discern which guides were worth my time and which were not. I look at this endeavor as a chance to help out other new players by keeping the mass amounts of [mis]-information somewhat limited so they can find what they need.
As to the double link, historically I've tried to post a link to the LoL forums if one exists since many of the other forms of guidemaking don't have the same level of reply and participation we see on these forums.
This makes perfect sense. Just seems to be a bit more cumbersome, and as a newer player, I would completely skip that guide. Obviously, experienced players would take more time, but a new player wants things to be easy to follow, not difficult.
Also, the framework for guides in the first post is just a general outline for components the most successful guides tend to have. If a thread has some great strategy, or an in-depth discussion going on, etc., it'll probably get in even if it's missing some of those other elements.
Again, this is simply a pet peeve of mine. I'll keep posting the ones I find difficult to follow, and let you be the counter-balance so we don't completely eliminate guides that are good on info even if they're difficult to follow.
I'll be posting more when I get the time. Thanks again for all the work!
