so how do boots of mobility work?

Yes, I've bought them and used them, but I never was really clear on what "out of combat" means for the calculation of boots of mobility. What counts as being "in combat"?

I assume attacking or being attacked counts. But what about abilities? If Ashe fires a crystal arrow across the map, is she "in combat"?

I believe being in combat is when you either do damage or get damaged. So if Ashe misses her arrow, then you are still out of combat.

If you deal damage, take damage, cast a spell on friendly target that is in combat.

ok... but for how long are you in combat? a second? maybe a few seconds?
