Guess the best way to be good at this game with everybody is to just not play it right? >.>

If you aren't going to contribute in any way, either through critique or praise or hatred or whatever, then just don't post. I'd rather keep the clutter out.

Looks like Cass is getting a buff. While she could be use a few minor buffs in some areas, I hope this isn't something major. She is borderline OP in the right hands and I do not look forward to having to pick Cass before someone else on my team does. Or maybe even seeing Cass banned in ranked. lol

Oh well, we'll see.

I'm loving the free Cassio week! I gave her a try randomly and now I can't look back. I'm definitely saving up IP for her now. I did my own guesses as to how to build her and had great success. I stumbled upon this guide and lwo and behold its nearly identical as to how I played her. So i'm convinced I got something going here.

Few comments/questions:
- With your 9/21/0 build how you keep up on mana. Her skills are very spammable and going that route I'd be paranoid enough to grab clarity.
- How do you rank her in terms of blue-buff priority? High, low, not needed?
- So you get MS quints, Boots 3, and Ghost? Isn't that a lil overboard? Or is that because
you dont get quickness in the utility tree? When you do go 9/0/21, would sorc shoes be better?
-I like how you rush catalyst, but i feel that kind of takes away from her aggressive early game. I LOVE Dring for the mana regen and AP. I feel theres no other way

Solid guide. Great to see that someone does see the usefulness of cassio and realize she can carry games. I've gone legendary 2 of the 7 games with 5 wins. She really is OP when played right!

Side note. /t out of a bush for lulz

This is a really helpful guide! I bought Cassiopeia last week and have really been enjoying playing her. I laughed when I started reading this, because I saw that you recommend the exact runes I have in my caster page (so I must be doing something right =P). I'm not too sure about Cleanse so far, as I haven't tried it yet. I run Ghost and Flash with the idea being that I stay far enough away that I won't have anything to Cleanse out of, although there are always those situations where you get snuck up on...

One thing I wanted to mention is that I believe you have a typo in "complement." This is how it's spelt in the case you mentioned, whereas if Singed is complimenting Cassiopeia, he might be telling her how pretty she looks today. ;P

Anyway, great guide! I'm looking forward to learning more and getting better with Cassiopeia. I'm having loads of fun with her; it's partly the poison, partly the spamming... I think she's an amazing champ and it's kind of fun that so many people underestimate her because you can mop the floor with them and prove them wrong. ;D

i just started playing LoL from a long time (been caught up with SC2) and the first week I come back bunch of new heroes, cassie being one of them i played her and grew very fond of her finding that with proper play she can easily make a game won by herself... I played a handful of games then decided to look up some guides, out of several sites and intensive reading I find this guide the most comprehensive and best quality. I had specific questions about particular items (with a good general idea) but you have cleared them up and got me thinking about use defense tree which i never thought of. I like how you stress the importance of Noxious Blast and how it really makes her character.. I mean besides all of the other advantages of it as far as teamplay, kiting, and all that goes.. if you do well and have decent items... you'r Noxious Blast will be ticking for over 600 every 3 seconds its applied... and yes you need quite a massive amount of AP but usually if you get a deathcap and practically any other items You will be doing around that much... That being said I just wanted to rant about her Q lol, I really respect this guide and give it a thumbs up.

I find that early game I do have some earlier mana problems if I do nothing but spam spells, but after I finish Catalyst I never worry about mana for the rest of the game and spam to my hearts content. With just a blue crystal though, it's not as easy to just throw spells everywhere. I usually keep my passive at 5 for a while, then when I'm running low I back off for a little bit to allow myself to regen, but most of the time by that time I'm ready to b anyway because I have the gold needed to finish my Catalyst. However, my build isn't the definitive way to play her, really it's up to you what you get on her. If it works for you it works, just because what works for me is slightly different doesn't mean you are doing something wrong. If you like Clarity, then go for it.

She's pretty high in blue buff territory, but she doesn't need it as much as someone like Anivia. It's more for the infinite mana more than anything else, although your mana is definitely manageable without it. The cdr only really benefits your Miasma and your Petrifying Gaze so while it can help, it isn't especially necessary if you have someone on your team that needs it more.

I've stopped running Ghost completely at this point, pretty much every game I run Cleanse/Flash. I dunno if I would say it's overboard, I may actually be more inclined to take Ghost if I went up the Utility tree because I could buff it with a mastery point, but I just really prefer the Defensive tree and I take Cleanse. However, like I said, it's really a personal preference more than anything else. As far as boots go, I've actually grown fond of Haunting Guise and will probably put it in my guide. It gives the same amount of mpen as Sorc Boots, but you keep the insane mobility +3 boots give you, and it also ups your hp and ap by a good amount for the price.

Eh, I'm still really aggressive early game even without the extra benefits Doran's Ring gives you. The main thing is Twin Fang spam which I try to stay away from in the earlier stages because it costs so much mana, and stick to Noxious Blast pokes for my early game harassment. It's been working pretty well for me, I usually dominate whatever lane I'm in and in very rare instances have I been successfully ganked running Cleanse/Flash.

Hope I answered some of your questions! Thanks for the feedback!

I really like Cleanse as a spell overall, I dunno maybe I'm just crazy but I get a ton of use out of it.

One particular instance is in the LOLReplay I provided, there is a point earlier on after I hit 6 that Sion and his butt buddy are chasing my lane-partner Kayle (as I did not take a solo). I deliberately put myself into a position to where Sion would think that he would stun me and once I see I've baited the stun, I move into the brush to hide myself and Cleanse it as soon as it hits. Then, once I feel I'm ready, I ult out of nowhere and our jungler gets a successful gank off.

Stuff like that is why I run Cleanse as a whole, but I do find it overall very useful for her ultimate. I should probably include this in the guide as I've been using the technique a lot lately, but when people stun you they usually try to follow up. However, if you Cleanse and then ult immediately after you are pretty much 100% good to go on landing a stun, not to mention it has saved my ass FAR more than Ghost ever has with her. The main thing is that she really... REALLY likes to keep her opponents at arm's length at all times as she's a range control specialist, you shouldn't really be bumping shoulders with your opponents while fighting them. I find Cleanse helps me keep my mojo going and not even hard cc can stop me from doing whatever I want, especially considering I find the +3 boots a very necessary item.

But, like I always say, it's how you want to do it. If it works for you it works, and I'm not here to dispute that. This is why I run Cleanse and I recommend it, however if you like Ghost and you feel comfortable with it, then keep at it.

Oh, and thanks for the typo lol. Hard to keep up with all of them as it is pretty long. You should have seen the rough draft lol, comma splices EVERYWHERE (I'm pretty bad about that).

Yeah she is a ton of fun, I never have a bad game with her. Sure, some games I don't do particularly well (one game was just.... just awful, our team went like 10/40 by end-game), but I always have fun while playing her and I'm always getting better.

Thank you for this guide, I'm pretty new (level 14 right now) and i bought Cass after she went off free rotation last week. Your guide really helped me figure out her play style and how to constantly go even or positive rather than massively negative. I have 2 question, first how do you afford a mana crystal and 2 mana potions I'm always 5 gold short and are her early game mana problems fixed when you have a full mastery tree and runes cause early game when i hit about level 4.5 or 5 I'm playing super defensive cause i don't have the catalyst yet and i run out of mana. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Er, to the poster above me, he goes with mana crystal and two health pots. Also, yes her mana problems are fixed a bit as you get runes and levels, but don't forget to be sparing with Twin Fang use, that thing will blow through your mana very fast.

Also to Bigdaddyrelish, thanks a lot for this guide, Cassiopiea is probably my new main after some of the stuff this guide helped me do. (Best game so far 15/4/10 against a highly fed team) My masteries are a little different, going 9/5/16 to get improved flash and quickness in the utility tree, with a slight bit of tankiness from the defensive tree. I mainly play normals, so I go ghost/flash and try to stay back for the most part. BTW, is it possible to set up LoLreplays to start when your computer starts? I tend to forget to turn it on most days.

Wow fail with the reading there on my part. Soraj what you said about twin fang is definitely the main reason i have been having problems. I'm to greedy for that first kill that i spam the hell out of it when i think i have a shot and then I'm OoM. I hadn't thought about that being a possibility so thanks for the tip.
