First off, this is not a qq thread, nor is it a nerf nao thread. More so, this is a logic thread. Personally, I like vlad where he is (if his regen rates got lowered I wouldn't mind).

Vladimir's Q reads (on PvP.net) that he "drains life from a target". Fair enough. He essentially pulls blood out of them.

But what if it's blocked? I have played sivir often against vlad. I blocked EVERY. SINGLE. transfusion he threw at me. It didn't matter, because I stayed at full mana, him at full health (essentially). Late game, its reflected by the most popular item in the game, banshee's veil; he can heal through a blocked ability.

There are other abilities, like Mundo's cleaver (unsure if it heals him if blocked), that don't make sense.

When an ability is defined as having a secondary effect (anti-healing, healing, slow), it should NOT proc when an ability is blocked.

Now I realize that if this were implemented, Sivir would be a perfect counterpick for vlad, but overall the game would be severely improved.

List of Abilities that have secondary effects which should NOT trigger when blocked/blinded: (List may be incomplete and inaccurate)

Vlad's Transfusion
Mundo's cleaver
Ezreal's Q
Xin Zhao's knockup

TL;DR Abilities should not have secondary effects when blocked.

Having trouble with Vladimir?

1. Don't lane against him if you're playing a champ that needs levels to be effective

2. Let a good harasser go against him.

3. Deny Vlad last hits for first 8 levels

4. Watch as he feeds the entire game.

It's not a problem with vlad.

Its a problem with logic.

If vlad tries to pull blood out of a target, and he doesn't, it shouldn't heal him.

Try reading, moron.

I agree with you on the logic, OP.

Oh man.. here it comes.

How does Vlad drain blood from Blitzcrank?
How can Tryndamere spin through fat walls?
How can Sion stun you with just a stare?
How are the female champions' boobs defying gravity?

It goes on and on..

Actually, from a logical point of view animation-wise, it would make sense.

Here's how I see the skill working:

Vlad drains blood from the enemy -> enemy gets hurt
Vlad drinks blood of the enemy -> Vlad gets healed

If you look at it in game, he still gets the blood and drinks it even if the damage itself is blocked.

Those shields are basically just painkillers.

Also, yeah, logic is not an argument to be made in video games. They essentially create another world, and in those worlds, our science does not have to apply. Remember that magic exists in this game and can be the solution to everything.

Mundo's cleaver doesn't steal health, it just makes him happy to hit a target, damage or not

I thought about responding to this, but then I realize, I really have nothing to say. +1 good sir.

(PS. Yordle trap should force yordles to chew through their leg like a fox)

But hitting with his cleaver restores health. And yes, Mundo cleaves for fun.
