I need help building Cho Gath
Mostly in terms of items, and summoner spells.
I get ghost/teleport usually, and exhaust on occasion.

Items I do

ruby crystal
boots
warmogs
mobility boots
guardian angel (unless more than 3 dps or 3 casters then I get FON/Thorn)
guardian angel if I didn't get it before
rylai's crystal septre/frozen heart (frozen first if there's a farmed dps or 2 dps champs)
frozen heart/ rylai

help?
I want a build that gives me some tanky traits but still allows me to get some nice kills

When i build cho i go a full out tank build,
start off with null magic mantle, or cloth armour depending on their team and then some helth/mp pots
build boots (mercury or ninja tabi), then, Randuins or FoN (once again depending on enemy team. next, i get warmogs, then Randuins/FoN (whichever i didn't get), Gaurdian angels and by this time it's usually gg, but if it keeps going i build frozen heart.

I like building;

Nashors(you can sub RoA for this, but I find the CDR to be too valuable)
swiftness/mercs
Aegis
Deathcap
Hourglass
Abyssal

I like to run ignite/ghost to pile on the true damage.

Edit: the core is Nashor(RoA)/boots/aegis/NLR/chain/neg

I like to grab boots first
then depending on if they have a known jungler or not grab 1 hp pot and a ward
or if they don't grab 2 hp pots and 1 mp pot
Then if their team is mostly AP start building warmogs (for hp) and banshees veil (for effect and mr) as situation needs
If they have a lot of physical grab warmogs flat out and possibly aegis or thornmail
grab a guardian angel mid game-late game
by then it is usually gg but if not deathcap if you are surviving easy or Rod of age/Frozen heart if you need a bit more hp.

This man, he is doing it right. Cho builds should always have items like this:

RoA/Nashor's
Mercs/Lucidity/Swiftness
Aegis
Frozen Heart/Zhonyas
FoN/Abyssal Scepter

Then, less high priority:
Spirit Visage
Rylai's
Randuin's

Sunfire and Warmog's can go hang. Aegis is really nice on him, because when tanking, your iniations aren't as powerful as some other tanks, so the ability to make your team tankier so they can follow you in is very nice. And that core is something you should take note of. Negatron Cloak + Chain Vest gives him a ridiculous amount of early game survivability.

I find that tank Cho'Gath is the best way to go, AP has it's value, but is generally not as good.

I will go back early and grab a catalyst, this makes you virtually unkillable. I will then build based on what they have, I will usually finish my Banshees Veil and then build into a Frozen Heart grabbing the Glacial Shroud first. Then as any tank you build to counter, Force of Nature, Thornmail, Randuins are all good choices to counter Magic damage and Physical damage respectively.

Edit: Merc treads and swiftness are both amazing, Merc is generally what you will be going for.

Full tank is a waste imo, as Cho can be still be very beefy with 300-400 ap and he initiates from range or not at all. You're actually hurting your team going full tank because the other team has no reason to attack you.

Well I know that I'd want a warmogs and sorc boots for sure then, afterwards if they have a 3+ champ type I'd build thorn randuins or FoN, then I should get a rylai and a deathcap if I wanna do a tank AP hybrid right?
Can someone help me out with a good hybrid ap tank cho and a full tank cho?

Cho'Gath has a variety of itemization paths.

Aegis
BVeil
FroHeart
Randuin
SV
Abyssal
Zhonya

are all great Cho'Gath items.
