Hi, I'm starting to play as cho, really like it, but I don't know what is better, rush warmog then boots or catalyst->boots->Guardian angel?
What do the maths say? Better stack hp or armor/MR?

Depends on the other teams damage.

At level 18, armor/ magic res is superior to hp. At significantly lower levels, the hp will be better unless your other teams damage is shifted towards physical or magic and you can counter it. But.... It'd have to be a really low level you're getting that warmog's armor at to be worth it, because it doesn't reach full strength until you're at those higher levels we were talking about.

This is what I concluded from just now figuring up the value per gold of third tier magic res and defense items. I based it off Cho having about 4 chomps, seemed reasonable. At level 18 with 4 chomps, Cho Gath was gaining more survivability per gold off armor/magic res even if he had to get equal amounts of each because the opponent's composition was exactly 50/50 (hint: that's rare). (this was based off Frozen Heart, Force of Nature, and Warmog's Armor. I didn't even have to count further against Warmog's armor that 25% attack speed reduction in an aura is far superior to some hp regen on a character that is probably done with laning phase anyway and has a natural regen passive)

After just going through the items in the database and crunching some numbers with notepad and calculator, I'll say that for myself, I'm never going to buy an hp item for a cho'gath i play, ever.

I run a mix of both. His high natural HP makes it tempting to go just armor/MR, but its key to remember that a smart carry or mage will take penetration against heavy tanks.

If you go warmogs as your first item then guardian angel after boots you'll be set defensively pretty much.

I forgot to figure in penetration. Hp might be better for magic.

Armor penetration is harder to come by.

I always pick up warmogs, boots, and force of nature. it depends on which one i get first based on the enemy team. Then a guardian angel and I find myself in a nice position where I dont really need anything else.

all purpose cho'gath build

start Hp crystal ---> cataylst
lvl 1 boots
build warmogs
upgrade boots to fit the other team (merc treads/tabi/swiftness)
turn catalyst into banshee veil
guardian angel

game is probably over but if not get either force of nature or frozenheart depending on opponent comp

If I may suggest, look here: http://www.leagueoflegends.com/board...ad.php?t=29398

This guide sets out at what HP values it is more advantageous to get Armor/MR. I would highly encourage you to take a look at it.
