In certain brushes where you know the enemy will attempt to hide and gank. Popular places would be:

  • Both brushes in the mid lane off to the sides.
  • The brush on the top lane in the river. People often hide there.
  • Baron, obviously. Towards late-game, though.
No other places, really. o.o

It really depends on the enemy team makeup/strategy as well.

If they have a jungler, the best spot is probably neutral creep camps (golem/lizard). This can open up some good gank opportunities.

If they're ganking heavily, then along the lizard or near entrances to the lanes is a good way to protect yourself.

Later in the game, if you find yourself on the defensive, then wards in your jungle might be handy. If you're on the offensive, put wards in their jungle.

Some champions don't mind taking hits from towers. On middle and bottom, there are entryways that are closer to the tower (2 on the sides on mid lane; 1 on top of bottom lane) That would be a great place for vision. It might sound silly, but players won't be afraid to rush to get a kill off of you, even if it means getting hit by the tower.

There is also 1 behind the top tower.
