why isnt everyone at 0 an then those who deserve to go up go up and those who dont stay where they are? then we wont have this hell hole that everyone complains about and its more of a matter of time till you get a good team then having to carry every game out of the whole till you get a good team

You mean if you lose a match you don't lose any rating right? In that case you want everyone to just keep entering ranked until they get lucky and win even if their horrible and their ranking still goes up. So you find horrible players in 2k elo matches. Very nice idea you got there.

If you start at 0, it's the same thing as starting at 1200. Everyone will start at the same level and people entering ranked for the first time will just be put with everyone else in ranked who is 1200.

If you start at 0, everyone who is just entering ranked for the first time will just be put with everyone else in ranked who is at 0 Elo. There is NO difference between the two cases.

If someone is 1200 true Elo, he is going to get stuck with new entries who are on their way down. That's how it works.

That is unless you are assuming that people shouldn't be able to drop below 0 Elo.

This creates an entirely different mess. The only people moving will be those that won. The separation difference between those winning and those losing would be smaller. It would take WAY longer to create an accurate Elo spread with that set up because you can only move by winning.

Even if you lose 15 times in a row, you can't go any lower than 0. You are now only 350 Elo away from the guy in first place who won his first 15 games rather than 700 Elo away from that guy. That means you can still get matched with him in extreme situations which will ruin the game for both participants. He won't have any fun because you are feeding. You won't have any fun because you are feeding. The spread might take longer than a year to even out and place people properly.

Won't work.
