Hey does anyone know the value for how armor scales with damage reduction in this game?

If not I think we should complie a list of the armor # vs. damage reduction %

Damage Reduction = Armor/(100+Armor)%.

That's all there is to it.

So 50 armor = 50/150 = 33% reduction
100 Armor = 100/200 = 50% Reduction
200 Armor = 200/300 = 66% Reduction

awesome, this is extremely helpful

also do u know if u have armor pen runes + a item like last whisper which is applied first?


Is the 40% factored in and then the armor penetration subtracted from that?

First Armor Reduction (Black Cleaver, Stark's Fervor, various abilities) is applied, this can go negative.
Then % Penetration is applied.
Then Flat Penetration (minimum of reduced to 0).

You can think of it like this:
Every 100 armor doubles your effective hitpoints. So 239 armor gives you 239% more effective hitpoints.

Just remember that most champ abilities are magic damage (kat's ult, gangplank's parrley, etc) not physical damage. MR works the same as armor as far as resists.

Parrley is magic damage, and yes it can crit. Ed: Simply amazes me how few people understand that nearly every activated ability is magic damage.

Spell Effect
Gangplank shoots a target unit for 30/60/90/120/150 plus 80% of his attack damage as magic damage. Gangplank gains 3 / 5 / 7 / 9 / 11 extra gold if Parley deals a killing blow. This ability is affected by critical strike and applies on hit effects.
