It's hilarious that people consider 1400-1600 "mid" elo. Guinsoo has stated that the top third of players are 1200 and above, and that's roughly 65,000 players considering the ladder only shows people above 1200 elo (about 2600 pages x 25 people a page).

There's roughly only 250 players above 1800 rating, which is about 0.1% of players that are rated. There's about 1250 players between 1600-1800 rating, which is 0.6% of ranked players. So I guess people think only 0.7% of players are good enough to be of "high" elo, or above 1600. Good times.

I've played 8 ranked games with a 50% win rate, and I'm still 'unranked', how do I find out my Elo?

I think your math is a bit off. If 250 was .001% then there would be 25,000,000 rated players.

If 1200 is no longer the average then could you reduce the elo limit to the average, I am unranked but apparently I'm in the top third of players.

I would say 1200 is mid elo. If you are in the top third thats a D in school. Thats not really good but I couldn't put it as high then. High is generally over 1600 because you are in the top few %s normally. I personally am 1500 and am top 4k. Take into account smurfs and stuff and people screwing around on extra accounts and you may not have that exact percent but generally 1200 is middle anything below that is low and 1500-1600+ is high

Boy thats a percent. Its .1% not .001 percents get converted.

Edit: Top 5% is normally considered very high. Top 15-10% is normally high and anything below that is middle. Nothing is averaged here.

You need to play at least 10 ranked games I think.
