Is standing on top of Thresh's lantern good counterplay?

Just out of curiosity. I've gotten screwed before because a bigger character like Volibear or even Tibbers would stand on top of Thresh's lantern and I would be unable to click on it over them. Do you consider this good counterplay, or is the aesthetic overlap unintended?

If you read Thresh's tips for playing against him, it says to stand on the lantern so they can't click it.

Its completely intended, however I dont like it. I feel like this isnt really GOOD counterplay because 1. it puts you in a bad position and 2. it doesnt even work a lot of times. They should add some sort of REAL counterplay to it.

It was definitely intended, but it's a very bad source of counterplay. Any target that isn't slowed or blinded but has any other cc should not click the lantern.
